I might have missed something but with Mourinho to Roma, I'm presuming he got wind that Fonseca is off to Tottenham and this is his middle finger to Levy. I am just guessing.

Potter-ball with better players could work very well. Look at their stats. They are where they are not through poor defence (look a their goal difference) but through missed chances. Just convert a hatful of their draws to wins and they would be Europa league.
Stick in a Son and a Kane and the Spurs midfield and they could be top 4.

I think as a whole their squad is stronger than ours. Take out Wilf Eze and Guaita and possibly Schlupp who else would get in their team. As much of a tw*t that Dunk is he's better than any CB we have got.

Not so silly?

Well, one thing seems relatively clear - if Howe wanted to be Celtic boss above and beyond any other option he might hope to have, then he would be by now.

But he isn't.

Wonder if we'll have Howe as manager with Lampard as he's no 2 ?

I suspect he is still manoeuvring to get as much money as he can.

Tomkins I rate. Pity his fitness this season.

I wonder if Saints are planning to sack Hasenhuttl. Howe would be all over that job like a rash

Interesting. You can understand Spurs wanting a change of style after Mourinho and Brighton would comfortably be top half with a good cf. They’ve also invested significantly in a young squad who would be better suited to Howe than ours.

As I recall Glen Murray couldn’t do the running Howe wanted at Bournemouth and they parted company quickly.

I think a club as big and proud as Celtic will not enjoy being held at arms length by Howe. If he hasn't said yes already then he may be out of time.

I saw a rumour somewhere a couple of weeks ago that Howe had been linked to Brighton - couldn’t see why when Potter has them playing such good football.

Hate to say it but if they had a decent striker they’d be top half comfortably.
The brand of football Potter brings would deffo please the Spurs fans and the quality of their squad could be tailor made for him - not the craziest rumour I’ve heard .
Although the Spurs fans I know all suffer delusions of grandeur and tell me Potter wouldn’t be a “big enough” name for them.
Personally I reckon the Wolves manager will go to Spurs. Potter to stay at Brighton, Howe to Newcastle and Dyche to Palace - but honestly would welcome any of those linked recently over another season of Roy - I’d even risk Ismail at Barnsley or the available Wilder (this time last season people scoffed at our chances of securing his services) or same of Lampard.

We have got to change direction and come away from the oh so pragmatic, enthusiasm draining approach of a man so entrenched in his defensive mindset that his primary thought is “how good is my striker at defending corners”!

Roy is not the ONLY available Manager we could possibly get to ensure survival - it’s not automatically Roy or relegation imo. It’s time for a new era and it can’t come soon enough for me.

Yes I know - be careful what you wish for , blah blah blah yawn.

I would suggest Potter is more likely to get the Spurs job than Nuno, who by all accounts is not a million miles from Mourinho in building his teams around a solid defensive base and counter-attacking football, but there is also a strong possibility possibility that Mason is given a chance if he gets results in these final games. Bruce has arguably been unlucky with injuries at Newcastle as when ASM and Wilson have both been fit they've carried a threat and I think until the club is sold Bruce will probably keep his job as Ashley isn't exactly trigger happy (probably doesn't like paying out compensation). The situation here is, I would argue, much more murky. I really wouldn't be surprised to see anyone in the hot seat next season, including Roy.

I think Bruce is generally underrated as a manager - can't see him coming back here mind you, even if Ashley got a someone else in.
