Yeah. It would be good if Parish would announce that WZ is a free agent and the club is not interested in offering him a contract. Very good shout.

Very good shout. I agree , Im not going to waste my time on it any more or comment on someone who is not a Palace player . Time to move on . He clearly has and im my opinion we are better off without the Zaha circus and petulant drama .

Presumably Zaha’s decision or should I say indecision, is having an impact on two things ; 1. The size of any transfer kitty the club has If I was Parish I would now attach a deadline to Palace’s offer - sign or by the end of this week it’s off the table The definition of chopping your nose off to spite your face. Zaha, for all his faults, is irreplaceable. The club plainly feel he is critical to the teams fortunes to have offered the contract they have, so why would they then set an artificial deadline for a player who, firstly, has done more than any other to make the club successful, secondly is virtually impossible to replace, and thirdly, the club really want to keep? All this bollocks on here about getting rid of Zaha like he's a problem just baffles me. The question is not whether Zaha has faults as a player, the question is how many clubs our size get to have a player that good? Not many. Zaha couldn't have been more transparent about what a huge decision he has to make this summer, the club have known for years that he'd be weighing up his options this summer, and quite right too. 'Sign by Friday Wilf, or else!' Or else what? We'll sign Demari f***ing Gray?!

I didn't know that the contract he'd been offered was public knowledge. Please enlighten me.

Wow, some real pent up emotional cobblers here - firstly no one says "get rid of Zaha", the fact is his contract has expired, therefore he's not a Palace player any longer, he's already gone. If the club wishes to negotiate a new contract then that is the club's prerogative and the player's choice to enter those negotiations. If the player wishes to look elsewhere after stating a desire to play CL football, then that is his prerogative. I can help but feel that he's fishing around for the best deal, and why should the club wait on him? The club is bigger than the player always.

There is no shortage of posts on this and many other threads saying we'd be better off without Zaha, time to move on, not worth the money/hassle etc. Just scroll up. The club is bigger than any player, yes, but the club is also only as good as its players. If it were simple, or even possible, to replace Zaha with someone as good or better then the club could set him a deadline, but it's not. Whether we like it or not, Zaha holds all the cards. We need him more than he needs us.
