The majority of us fail tom realize that these managers, they have reputations behind the closed doors of clubs.. we really don't know the half of it - mate works in the Brighton set up and yeah, what he said about potter was very interesting.. made me realize I knew even less. There are managers that cause a scene but get results, some that just follow the orders, some there for pr reasons...

I hope - but we haven't had much luck at this, we get a manager that understands us, understands the mission statement and is a bit of a character on the wings
.

Step forward Clinton Morrison...

Clinton has that TV pundit thing developing nicely for him just at the moment, he is in the right place at the right time for the product he delivers, giving that gig up to try his hand at football management without having any obvious elite team management experience would be an ambitious, if not foolhardy move by both him & the club.

I can see Roy being asked to move upstairs ,so he is there if required ,Paddy takes over with Ray and there is a seamless transfer of power

Year two Roy goes back to his retirement , Paddy takes complete control (possibly Ray as coach)

As long as we hold mid table obscurity its a plan I can see developing in the club .

I do not envisage such a scenario one iota.

Twice Parish has attempted a playing reset and both times he’s pulled the plug ( De Boer and Vieira ).

Quite where he goes from post Roy I don’t know.

Promoting Paddy suggests that he’s opening up a career path for him and that the next manager would be expected to work with McCarthy. That would enable a fresh approach but also have someone that is more in tune with Palace’s DNA. And of course Paddy has the best understanding of what the younger players in the Academy have to offer.

Actually I could see Rodgers as an option. Knows the Premier League and although it went stale for him at Leicester, I think he’s more suited to our kind of club as opposed to a top 6 team

I think at end of season Parish will want a seasoned manager with PL experience with Paddy possibly as assistant? The three leading options for me are Rodger's, Potter - or Roy for another season? The advantage of Roy is he knows Palace through and through and knows the kind of player we are looking for. As we all know it's a hugely challenging off season and we need to get the choice of the next manager absolutely right., and make the choice asap.

We of course might not be plying our trade in the PL next season.

In terms of Rodgers, I just get a "Feeling in my water" that he would not have the desire to manage us in the PL.

Apropos Mr Hodgson, this short term deal suits him at his time of life and perhaps he has no intention of taking up the cudgel on a long-term basis.
Furthermore, I am keeping my emotions in check - we defeated a very average Leicester team at Home and we could well get into 'Pitchy seas' as the season draws to an end.By then there could be no calls for Mr Hodgson to continue !

Not convinced in either Brendan or Graham. Also don’t think Roy is a long term solution however if we are to stay and compete in the league well have to adopt a brighton/Brentford approach. Academy is stage one, stage 2 should be a data based recruiting with a clear playing style in mind. Don’t think solely relying on DF and his gut is a sustainable approach. With a clear plan and good recruitment it becomes much easier to find a suitable manager. Pains me to say it but that’s why Brighton have done so well, de zebri was no superstar. Just a good manager that suits the way they conduct business. It stricken me as it’s never a change, just continuation.

100%. If we are not already we need to be much more analytical in our recruitment. vs a 'I reckon Rogers would do well' approach.

This is Faes' first season at the club, he was signed from Reims for £17 Mill.
This season, Leicester have signed 6 players, including Kristainsen,Souttar and Tete who all played on Saturday.

Last season Leicester signed 5 players, Bertrand, Vestegaard, Soumare, Lookman (On loan) and Daka.

It’s not that Leicester, haven’t brought players in that is their problem, It’s the fact that those players haven’t replicated the standards set by those they sold, let go., or in the case of Evans, and Vardy ,have gone past their best. Not much of that could be placed at Rogers door. Leicester were not flying, when Rogers took them, he in fact brought back the mojo of what was at that time a talented squad gone a bit sleepy, but all squads need reinventing and Leicesters recruiters ,didn’t manage it in the next couple of seasons.

Leicester were 11th after 28 games when Rodgers took up the 'Reins' and they finished the season in 9th place.
They finished 5th in the following 2 seasons and 8th last season.
The Vardy goals have dried up, Tielemans has not been at his best and Maddison has had his injury problems this season. The central defensive partnership of Evans and Soyuncu have played far fewer games than in recent seasons.

not convinced with either Potter or Rodgers. are these 2 really our only options?

I have no idea which way SP&Co ltd will go this time round. Tried breaking the mould twice now, in FdB and PV, both failed fairly quickly. Do they go again with another 'new age' manager? Or go for tried and Tested PL experience - or someone/something new altogether?

The options will change depending on whether we will be ploughing our furrow in the PL or Championship next season.
I am not working on the assumption that we will be in the PL next season as we are in a relegation battle and our fate could go down to the wire.
