If he's not training with us he's gone. Is he training - I know we have loads of fake in the knows but there are some who see the training ground?

Saw him driving home at lunchtime in his flash car by Hilton on Purley Way. My guess on the way back home from Beckenham to Purley.

The usually reliable and Palace supporting Ed Aarons from the Guardian is reporting that Zaha is likely to make a decision next week after returning from honeymoon.
He suggests that Zaha’s representatives are still in discussion with interested clubs and that Zaha has not given Palace a pointer as to his intentions yet.
My instincts are that he will remain and put an end to the saga which may disappoint a few on here who think that the finances would be better deployed elsewhere.

Other points from Aarons; Eze’s younger brother has joined the Palace youth team but Eze himself hasn’t committed to extending his contract yet; there is interest in both Guehi and Anderson but Palace won’t consider offers less than £40 million for Anderson.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see one of them depart (sadly).

This delay only benefits one person and that's Wilf.

Past form dictates we will not look elsewhere while we think he might stay as we cannot commit wages until we know if we have to fork out to keep him.

The start of the season gets ever closer and so far our best signing is Derry!

Lazio won’t be paying £200 per week that’s for sure. One look at the videos and they will see he goes missing in the big games. Has done his whole career.

Overall Parish has done a good job for the club.

The misfortune he has is the investors he has brought in appear to have have no appetite for growing Palace. Even though they could help turn us into a top half club with their eyes shut, for whatever reason the chemistry is not there to advance their investment to do this.
Harris and Blitzer would clearly rather buy a proven top six club for big bucks than participate in the Palace story. Texter, no-one really understands his route, but Palace would appear to be a part of an underfunded dream of putting together a group of clubs globally to do I don't know what. To compare this concept with the Abu Dhabi Royal family sovereign fund at Man City and their strategy is fine , but the funding stream is clearly not comparable.
So while we struggle with our finances, to be offering Wilf an increase on his salary to re join the club is very short sighted and reckless. I would be very surprised if any offer of a salary increase has ever been on the table. More likely the press being used to heat everything up.
As the start of the new season looms closer, we need to now take hold of the situation and make some firm decisions. Dithering about with so much indecision will do us no favours.
Wilf should either be offered and sign a new reduced salary contract which will fit into our club's recently created player purchasing model (albeit allowing a minor stretch) or we should turn our back on him and move on. Either way this needs a decision.
Personally I believe it would be a mistake to bring Wilf back. I also believe it will not be helping the stability of our players having a very indecisive Wilf on the premises presumablyy being repaired quite possibly for his benefit not ours.
In football, the club is always bigger than the player. With our very exciting emerging squad of new talent, that is what we must now focus on and their well being, not the unknown future of one of our historic best ever players.

Sky sports news are saying (true or not) that all other offers except the Saudi one, are far lower than the Palace offer, we are seriously in danger of making ourselves look a laughing stock, we are throwing away the chance of bringing 2/3 new players in for giving him even his old contract, and dont forget signing on fee, between 5/10m, please Wilf go and play in the champions league, pick Napoli.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Totally agree as the new season beckons and this indecision will potentially cost us dear and is preventing any significant signings.
Wilf, apparently loves Italian ice cream. Why don't you make up your mind this week and enjoy a few cornetto, in Roma,Lazio or Napoli, anywhere but Palace!!

If Napoli are offering him a contract he has to choose them, current Italian champions and Champions league football. That's if it's a football decision.

Been saying this for about 3 weeks but surely next week is the week we get a random push notification either announcing a new contract or that he's left the club.

I'm expecting the former but if it is the latter and he has strung us along then it's going to be a disappointing end to his tenure.

But Parish brought in these investors, it was not a hostile takeover. He also brought in the 'policy,' of only offering a one year contract at reduced rates for players over 30 that he is now so keen to rip up in spectacular style. This policy has lost us some good players.

He is currently continuing with a policy of uncertainty, a club with no real money to invest as we are building (allegedly) a bit old white elephant of a stand, and seeing other similar clubs grow steadily stronger around us.

Everyone continues to say that relegation would destroy us yet we seem to do little to try to prevent it!

Tbh I'd say it's our lack of decision rather than him stringing us along. He's out of contract so has the right to browse the market. In my mind if he received a decent offer from a champions league team he'd be mad not to take it. Us competing and offering him a contract made sense, but not setting a deadline and the rumoured 200k and 4yrs is madness imo and reflects poorly on us. I've been really pleased with our overall recruitment and new policy the last couple of seasons (albeit we could have added a couple more but I guess we don't have endless resources) but I believe Wilf signing on those terms would be a mistake.

In Wilf's case the phrase "Pi$$ or get off the pot" springs to mind
