I'm reasonably well disposed to Roy but a full season - No. Loved it Saturday. He's turned a number of players round eg Doucoure and Mitchell to some degree but we have to plan sensibly for next year.
Why not ask Roy who he admires most of a younger generation. As long as doesn't say Potter or Rodgers I'll listen.
This is going to be a really difficult call. I am seriously struggling to think of anyone suitable for our club. Roy's appointment however has given Dougie time to do his job. Sticking with Roy would just be kicking the can down the road.

Yep agree, cant be Roy. But I'd be very open to giving him another role at the club, obviously a very experienced guy.

A mate of mine seems to think that with the amount of American owners at the club (at least at the moment) we are going to be persuaded (or pushed) into taking an American manager, someone like Jesse Marsch -

Out of rogers and Potter I'd definitely take rogers, more experience, potter looked completely in over his head at Chelsea, clueless with bizarre team selections. I thought rogers handled managing a big club like Liverpool pretty well. Done a great job at Swansea, great job at Leicester and celtic. Potter done okay at Brighton but how much of that was down to their scouting system ? Plus de zerbi has came in and done an even better job with the same players.

It’s gone wrong this season at Leicester, undeniable , but you outline the rest of Rogers. career pretty well. The fellers a brilliant coach the record proves it, and that can not have changed, you just don’t stop knowing what you’re doing. Successful teams need to be balanced in their make up, Leicester was for some seasons , but with Vardy and Evans over the top, transfers out not covered well, and one or two wanting away , Rogers has struggled to get performance out of them. They should look at owners and recruiters. Rogers will succeed again, who knows maybe at Palace?

A lot of Leicester fans wanted Rodgers out two seasons ago, feeling their football has just become worse as time has passed by.

I'd definitely lay the blame with the owners of Leicester, I might be wrong but I can't think of them spending that much compared to other teams in the league and only city have managed to constantly reinvest and reinvent successfully.

The luxury the big clubs have is you might miss out on the top 4 for a couple of seasons, realistically you'll still finish 6th at the very worst you won't finish out the top 10 and can still attract and spend on the best players in the world.

You leave yourself with very little leeway when trying to do it at a club the size of us and Leicester. Take the top 6 and now Newcastle, a few clubs with a settled squad and manager then the season you're transitioning, you're never going to be that far In front of the bottom 3 clubs. I definitely wouldn't call rogers a bad manager and any fan that would turn their nose up at him, have delusions of grandeur for our club.

I would agree. A bit of a Pardewesque figure. First season, great - downhill from there. Not much actual substance. Has no specific style, doesn't work on basics such as set pieces. Too much reliance on certain players rather than a solid system. Needs to go back to basics. He also does not criticise lack of investment, is usually in the owner's pocket. I'm being hard on him, he's ok but I don't want him at Palace. I bet Parish does though.

I'd really struggle to get onboard with Rodgers.

Seems like a bit of a weirdo, and up his own Aris.

Last thing I'd want is a manager here who looks as though he considers it a stop gap until Real Madrid come calling and thinks he's doing us a massive favour therefore we should all be ever so grateful no matter what.

Judging by Leicester's performance on Saturday I'd expect a similar approach to that we saw under PV this season. After the game, we had a drink in the Glaziers to skip the crowds and their fans were vocal about him by the team coach, telling.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I am a bit aghast about the press talk of getting Mr Cooper from Forest.

I am sure his coaching skills are better than his media persona.

Personally I wouldn't object to Rodgers or Potter but there is plenty of time to get this sorted and I am sure there are others 'beneath the radar' that would be suitable.

I personally would like to see Roy at the helm for one more season IF results continue to go well. If not, I think Steve Cooper is a brilliant coach and would like to see him. Roger's, Potter or Lampard would be good too. But it's a question of which style of play fitted best with Palace's . Of those mentioned, I'd still go for a Roy.

Not Rogers please
Or GP who is apparently well liked by SP.
I quite like the Millwall manager GR who is certainly punching above his weight at those losers!

Hopefully yesterday’s result, swiftly followed up with a win away at Leeds will allow SP and co some breathing space to carefully consider their next move. Massive decision.
Not sure about Rogers and even less so with Potter.
Maybe Favre will be interested (now that he’s had the break from football it was claimed he needed) or Bielsa? Could even be the case that Cooper or Dyche might be available by the time the season finishes.

I’m increasingly thinking Cooper might be a good fit.

Biesla is not only massively overrated he is als very very expensive. He insists on bringing in his own staff to cover ALL coaching throughout the club (did so at Leeds, talks broke down with Everton because he also insisted upon it if he were to have taken that job) at a cost of just over a million a month!
Parish would laugh him all the way back to Heathrow!

I dont really rate Cooper that highly. Got Forest promoted and did ok at Swansea but what has he done in THIS division? Despite ridiculous amounts of money being thrown at him? Money which Palace Wont give him even if they had it.
Rodgers seems to have a sell by date. After a year or two at each club he's been at the wheels start coming off.
De Zerbi has proved without any doubt that Brighton's success is in no way down to just Potter. I dont care about the Brighton Connection, I'm just not convinced.
Then there's the big name players that have used their names to move straight into management at the very top (Lampard and Gerrard) and are complete failures that dont seem to have a clue even though they surround themselves with experienced coaches.
I personally think we should go with either Fonseca or Rafa Benitez although the latter could also prove to be expensive

Let's not forget the media noise around Adi Hutter. He may still be in the frame.
