Skybet have got a decent free bet system in place this season. Basically you have to bet £5 on odds of 5/1 or more on an accumulator once a week and every week you do so they give you a free £5 bet to use on whatever you want. I bet £10 on a treble of QPR, Reading, and Notts Forest and got just over 5/1. Returned £60 and I get a free £5 bet too. Happy days. Going to use the free bet on Brighton, Forest, Middlesborough treble in the League Cup. 1.67/1. Brighton are home to Newport, Forest home to Hartlepool and Middlesborough home to Accrington Stanley. Seems like more easy money to me!

Looks safe as houses! I'm going to whack a pony on it now.

The accumulator at the end is probably alright and worth a go.

With regards to Sky's offer this season, last season it was at any odds each week. It obviously wasn't in their interests to do that again this season. I wonder why? They've stretched it to 5/1 for a reason. If you win with the £5 + £5 5/1 accumulator every 6 weeks you'll break even.

I think this offer is pretty cheeky and pretty transparent. Their odds usually aren't as good as the others, although later on last season they went through a period of being better than several of the main online bookies.

However, if long shot acca's are what you do every week anyway, it's worth doing. Personally I think doubles and trebles at most have a good success rate. You can go through periods of 2 wins out of 3 and leave it when the divisions start getting desperate for results etc.

Paddy Power are refunding all first/last scorer, score cast and correct score bets if Blackburn win at Derby today. I think Rovers will win comfortably so worth sticking a bit of money on the game.

Derby are 4/6 or 10/11 with the bookies and Blackburn are 3/1 with Paddy's, 7/2 or 15/4 with others.

It was a 1-1 draw. As PPower were offering almost 4/1 on Blackburn to win, may as well just punt on that if the offer was what was pulling punters in, and they probably did just that.

I looked at BTTS at 8/11 but didn't.

Last seasons offer was that you got a stamp every time you bet £10 and got a £5 free bet every 5 bets so you had to spend £50 just to get £5 free. The offer you are reffering to where you get £5 free every week was only available to new customers signing up so it simply wasnt available to me. I'm not sure what you mean by I would break even if I won every 6 weeks. That would only be true if every single £5 free bet lost. Basically you will only ever lose out if your accumolator and your free bet both lose. As for their odds, now that they are sponsoring the Championship they are GUARANTEEING the best odds in that league. So far I have got evens for Sheffield United to beat Notts County(won) and 13/4 Blackburn to draw at Derby(also won. Just the one loss this season on Ross County to draw at Celtic which I did in play when they went 1 up. I don't do long shot accumulators as I agree with you doubles and trebles are the way to go hence my treble of QPR, Reading and Notts Forest. All hot favourites still over 5/1. Deffo good opportunity to fill your boots on Skybet

What I'm saying is if you put on 5/1 bets and lose every week for 5 weeks, (which is possible on 5/1 odds & why they offer it), and win on the 6th week, you're breaking even.

They have drifted the odds allowed to either make people lose small money they don't notice, or notice to begin with, and if they do make anything, Skybet are not going to notice it. I'm not saying the one they offered for small £5 + £5 bets last year would dent their balance sheet, but I know which one would lose them more money if everyone valued the £5 + £5 as if it was £50 or £500 and made careful selections.

I don't think running 2 acca's each week is a good strategy IMO. Difficult enough picking 1,2 or 3 results. Picking at least 6 and spreading them over 2 acca's is reducing your chances.

I forgot to back Sheff Utd. Was going to, but forgot. I never fancied the Blackburn win or a scorecast bet covered by Bburn to win. The BTTS and your draw were more likely. There's a reason Paddy's do those offers and they pull people in to bet on something they weren't going to.

You only need to do one accumulator a week though to get your £5 free bet. Then you can use the free £5 bet on whatever you want. I get what you're saying that if you lose every week for 5 weeks and win the 6th you break even but thats assuming you lose all 6 free bets too. Not likely to be honest. I've had to go for a 6 fold to get 5/1 this week, so we'll see how I get on. Got Brighton, Leeds, Notts Forest,Middlesborough in the League Cup, Man United in the community Shield and Chelsea at home to Hull in the Premier League.

Championship looks a bit trickier this week. Bookies haven't taken form into account in a few ties and some generous away odds for Bournemouth, Derby, Leeds. Blackpool v Barnsley is dodgy with Ince suspended for 2 games. Fancy at a glance:

IPSWICH 19/20 V Miiiii

SWINDON 4/5 v Stevenage

BRADFORD 4/5 v Carlisle

LEYTON ORIENT 5/6 v Shrewsbury

I take it you're doing the £5 =£5 free Skybet? Don't you lose the offer if you don't bet £5 every week?
