Edited by Spiderman (15 Dec 2022 2.05pm) I noticed that JK Rowling has announced a hostel for battered women in Edinburgh with the emphasis on the word women. She will fund it and made a point of saying it was not a charity. I think she has been forced to avoid the charity route as no doubt the Trans mob would complain to the Charity Commission and the SNP government about discrimination so by keeping it private I assume she avoids that. Although apparently you can set up a charity just for black women and no one seems to have a problem with that. Anyway good luck to her never a fan of her books but she is fighting the good fight for women.

Isn't there scope to say that both every year people(s) create some sort of 'beef' with Xmas and every year this gets slightly sensationalised? Seems as though both those things happen to me. Xmas however is like the 'golden child' of holidays. It's the one time of the year people seem, collectively, at their happiest. So I do understand the aggression in defending it against even the slightest attempt to attack it.
