It is no surprise to anyone that Wilf wants to leave but it is going to be very interesting to see if there are any takers. There is not a single player in the league who gets wound up more by refs and opposition.

His hold up play can be very good, obviously given the right service, he is very good in the air. Unfortunately his conversion rate is not great. The Benteke of the last couple of months/ 3 years ago, IMO would probably be valued at around £20m The Benteke who couldn’t hit a barn door, no more than £10m. Just my opinion and am happy for people to disagree. Edited by Spiderman (04 Jun 2021 6.59am) Thanks. My thoughts on both are on similar lines.

Also Wilf might know who the new manager is going to be and doesn't like him, Dyche would not play him

Wilf needs a new challenge, at 28 time is slipping away .. Will be interesting to see what team is willing to match his wages plus a healthy fee ... in this market 25 plus .. Arsenal don’t need him, neither do any of the other so called top six, probably a sideways move to the perennial underachieving Everton at very best .. can see him at Selhurst next season, I’m guessing this is not a formal transfer request (like Harry) wants to go but also wants a big wad of cash out of the deal for leaving.

I am a big Wilf fan most of the time but there have been games where even I would have substituted him halfway through the game - a bunch of posters on here have detailed exactly the issues as to why Wilf isnt getting the kind of move that we keep reading that he is dreaming of - my question is - what crap are the people that Wilf surrounds himself with feeding him ? You would think that somewhere in that group there must surely be someone with an ounce of common sense to make him understand the reality of the situation.

Just cos he hasn't had the money to buy players like Wilf at Burnley and has made do with cheaper options like Vydra, Barnes and Rodriguez as his 2nd striker doesn't mean he wouldn't love to have a player like Zaha.

he woulnt play him in my opinion he like two big forwards but Barnes has been injured a lot, so the only spot is right wing, he like wingers on their right side, and quick delivery and tracking back, Dwight McNeil is his perfect winger, gets, make a yard then crosses, Benteke and Mateta would sort him, and there is no way he would play Townsend on the right

From yesterday's newspaper: He "spent most of last season either being kicked or recovering from being kicked.......players took turns to trip and hack him.......as ever, he rose to that battle rather than shy away from it." Question: Who's he talking about?
