Johnny Williams, Barry Bannan, Max Meyer - essentially all very similar players, certainly build wise and just not strong enough to cope with life in a premier league midfield.

But Williams was good enough to play in the Semi finals of the Euros and Max good enough to be capped by Germany.

I don’t think size has anything to do with it,

Best, Messi, Maradona etc were all similar size

Perhaps the club can give some of his £170k per week wages to Mayday hospital...

170k a week according to the press or 8.7m a year. London’s googled average wage is 86400. So he was earning 100 people’s wages for not playing. Yet Arsenal make 50 redundant to save money. Football gone crazy.

Your Googling is awry. £41k is nearer the mark

Never suited our style but still likely to get snapped up back in Germany and gradually rebuild his reputation. Still young so good luck to him.
In summary, wrong club and wrong league...

A bit of overthinking going on here.

The reason he didn't play more was because he was crap. The reason he looked crap when he did play is because he was crap. The reason nobody else swooped in to take advantage of our shocking failure to use this gifted technical high-end talent properly is because he wasn't a gifted technical high-end talent. He was, in fact, crap.

Why not try and sell him to someone even if it was only for a small fee? Seems a waste to let him go for nothing after how much money we've paid him.

It’s the folly of a free transfer for anything more than a one year deal. No fee but high wages. No one will pay for the player or indeed take then on and match them. The player then sees out the contract or has it paid off with a lump sum and walks into new club and does it again. Meyer is not worth 30k a week let alone 120k.

Agreed. Not crap though, but just not quite good enough

... wouldn't disagree but he was probably too agile on the pitch for the rest of our old timers to catch him up.

A failed gamble, Eze has been a very pleasing one.

There's been plenty of occasions when the crowed has tore into one of our players dilly dallying on the ball, when its been quite clear the player has had non options for a pass.

Seems strange to do this now, just after Schlupp has been injured. Now there's no back up for Eze on that wing.

Its unlikely that we have stopped paying him. We'd have had to give him a huge payoff, so makes no difference to FFP, except he's no longer available.
