Even with a slow build up he should be putting in more effort and scoring a few more.

I agree that Roy's tactics have not brought out the best of Benteke but strikers have to score goals, that's all they get judged on ultimately.

He doesn't have a shot on him, he has no left foot, he can't go past a player and get a shot away, he can't head the ball unless it's pinged in with pace 'away' from the keeper, he gets out muscled by smaller guys all the time, he makes odd runs behind defenders as if he doesn't want to be played in, he can hold the ball up if it's played into his chest but loses possession quite often because of his first touch...apart from that he's great and worth every penny!

Don't forget also those occasions when he is one on one with the keeper, he... always shoots straight at the keeper, boom tish!
I think the game against Wolves when they got that late equaliser sums him up - only been on 5 minutes and the ball comes out to him in space and the break is potentially on, a poor first touch and the Wolves player who was at least 5 yards behind promptly catches him up, forcing a piss poor pass to Zaha, who loses it and they bounce back and score. If we get £8m for him it'll be a top result!

fully agree and don't forget he can't even score from the penalty spot, all in all an imposter of a striker!

So many clueless people in here it just shows you have never completed in any sports in your life you just dont have a clue at all.

To state that international teams are minor so it does not count yeah ok so remove all those teams from tournaments etc the results are meaningless clueless.

Now trying to compare to Vardy they are nothing alike complete different player wow you dont have a clue about football.

Yes Benetke goes and hides good one o my think use your brain look at the bigger picture its because of the super slow build up play and why would a guy even bother to charge into the box when he wont get the service.

I suggest you go back and watch the games under roy and when benteke was scoring for palace you will spot massive differences it may well open your eyes why theirs a problem.

Is this his way of buying favour with Roy? Will he be holding tea dances and bridge afternoons? Personally I think he is happy to work on his investments and ride out the remaining year of his contract, unless he gets an offer from another PL club. I really don't see him going abroad.
