The move yes. The facts no sadly. Late move from Everton? Unlikely but anything could happen in the crazy world of football! We would still have two weeks to bring in Sarr and Benrahma from the Chamionship until 16th?

If we sold Zaha today the values of Benrahma and Sarr would go straight up as they'd know we were absolutely desperate. I can't see anything happening tbh.

So what will be Wilf's response to there being no interest in him? I have a bad feeling it isn't going to inspire him to great things.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

The Everton rumor was probably started by SP to make Wilf feel 'Wanted'. Another season in a Palace jersey and if he doesn't improve he'll be here until his contract runs out.

So what sort of Wilf will we see this season now that he has again failed to get a move away from Palace? Various factors go toward making a player a top level performer, and a vital piece in that jigsaw is the individual's mental make-up. However much talent you have, you have to have massive self-belief, resilience and determination to be able to continually compete and perform at the top. Sadly, it is that bit that is missing in Wilf and it has prevented him from progressing to play for a top side. We have seen some wonderful moments from him, but we have also seen the regular strops and petulance. All too often he operates in victim mode, and rather than using his skills to redress perceived injustices, his shoulders drop and the sulks begin. I think part of the problem has been that at Palace he has, for too long, been the big fish in a smallish pond, and what shortcomings he has have been indulged and tolerated by club and supporters. Elsewhere he may have been given greater guidance and encouragement to try and overcome his attitude issues.Worryingly for him that may now be too late.

The only reason there was no interest is because he had a poor season by his standards last year. I suspect he was carrying an injury for at least part of last season. He will know better ythan anyone he will need to score 12 goals + and a few more assists before anyone will come knocking. The ball is in his court.

He didn't do himself any favours after the restart. Any team that might have been interested would have decided against it having seen his performances. We can only hope that he gets over it quickly and buckles down otherwise Roy needs to drop him.

I'm expecting Wilf to knuckle down and perform. However it will require us to play as we did against United and Everton (rather than as we did against Chelsea) if he is to showcase his talents. Also I think he will do well to forge a good understanding with Eze (and when he returns PvA) because between the three of them they should cause opposition defences lots of problems. For me, keeping Wilf is as good as bringing in another player and this time round it wasn't a case of the club rejecting bids as there don't appear to have been any. So no reason for Wilf to be miffed at the club unless there were things behind the scenes yet to surface.

Whatever happened to than Villa teenager who racially abused Wilf prior to the game last season. Lots of press at time but has now petered out?
