This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

My thoughts are straying to the next matchday programme. With no football, will we have cooking articles from Luca, Roy, Steve, and the Ladies Team Captain, instead of the usual words? Perhaps there will be mention of opposition going home without three points, but with food parcels? COYP

You don't know me if you think you can get away without a link to the source of those stats. What are the figures for the missing 51 to 74 age group? A little bit of homework for you, Hi Dave, you’re right, I absolutely don’t know you but I am disappointed if you feel it is necessary or a requirement for a contributor to provide a source or link to everything they say in order for it to be validated. My sibling is a Deputy Director for NHS England and I had a phone call with them the evening before I posted about the potential Government isolation strategy for the Over 70’s in relation to the NHS trying to cope with demand. I am 49 and we discussed the under 50’s vulnerability and our parents are over 75 and we discussed theirs. The data was accurate at the time we spoke as it is what the National Co-ordination Centre were working to that day. Believe what you want, it matters not to me but I hope I have given you the background for my comments. Ultimately the strategy that I was highlighting, re the Over 70’s vulnerability and any imposed isolation measures, is entirely around the policy of managing the strain on the NHS and not out of kindness to the ‘Over 70’ individual concerned. There is an exponential increase in the chances of a person over 75 requiring hospitalisation compared to someone under the age of 50 and both of these messages have been expanded upon and re-iterated by the Government, Public Health England and the NHS numerous times since my comments were first made three days ago.
