I think we may need to rest one or two, so perhaps the Southampton game might be ideal to introduce Camarasa and possibly one of the youngsters. Perhaps start with this team Guaita Kelly. Tomkins. Sakho. Riedewald Camarasa. Milivojevic. McArthy Meyer. Ayew. Zaha This will give our two work horses in McArthur and Kouyate a rest. Could also go 4-4-2 and move Wilf back into midfield with a Wickham taking Meyers place but I’m not sure we play that well in that set up.

And to be honest, with pva and McCarthur likely out anyway, what choice do we have?!

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Injuries list' by Midlands Eagle Can I check the grim injury toll and possible return dates? Can anyone add anything to this? One other thought. 38 points is usually seen as a safe total to escape relegation. But now that Watford, West Ham and Villa are staging revivals, 40 may be the true target - in which case we still need (say) 3 wins and 3 draws. Bear in mind we have a tough final run in. Our last seven matches include Leicester and Liverpool away and Chelsea, Man U and Spurs at home. Edited by peterg (02 Jan 2020 5.20pm)

Meanwhile what kind of inward transfers do we need? We had always needed a new RB, creative midfielder and striker. Do Wickham and Pierrick provide alternative strikers? And what are our defensive priorities in view of the absurd injury list? There is already a thread on what we are looking for in January so please confine comments to that thread

Have removed offending paragraph and inserted it in a thread in the transfer section. Not clear if I am allowed to keep the paragraph about points total, so have left it in for the moment,

Yet another injury. Sakho has done his hamstring and likely to be out a month or so. We really are down to bare bones now.

Edited by peterg (02 Jan 2020 5.20pm) We won 4-1 at Leicester last season, Liverpool never enjoy playing us although results have just gone their way in the last five by one goal! Chelsea are all over the place as are Moan.U and Spurs are at this moment nothing to worry about in the slightest!

So we can add Wickham and Reidewald to the injury list and Luka will get 3 games for a straight red (hopefully i’m wrong on this)
