Roy's work has set the stage for Dyche as the new broom when the time comes to switch.

Dyche probably secures us in the top 10 at a low cost and for a long period of time. Style of play notwithstanding, that will be so tempting.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

He probably actually hates us given
we spoiled his party a few times .

When Roy decides to call it a day we should do all we can to change his mind .

Didn’t Roy mention a couple of weeks ago he was having a meeting with Steve regarding his plans for the future ?

In the final analysis we don't know for certain when Hodgson will depart.
Hodgson could go at the end of a relegation season so the new manager will be taking charge of a side in the Championship and if so this could limit our options.
We don't know who will be available at that time or could possibly be interested.

It is conceivable that Steve Parish might not be around to make the decision.

So many variables and possibilities so I have not focussed my mind or any particular managers thus far.

Might be be pure drivel, but the point is, there should be planning for succession. Remains to be seen with the board , given their propensity to scramble about at the last minute, let's hope they are , aussie/ ex player, tried and tested, wtf ever.

For what it's worth nathan Jones at stoke..yes I know hes having a tough time, but that club has been rotten for some time, did a fab job at Luton, just feel there is something about him. Think he will turn stoke around.

Another possibility is that roy could get himself the sack.

We have been pretty good so far- very good points yield , however any points in the next 5 or six games will be regarded as bonus points.

If we revert to type and fvck up in the preceding set of fixtures where we would be hoping to pick up points (or our lack of squad depth , notably strikers and fullbacks), then we are back in the grinder.

Roy is doing a marvelous job with the resources at his disposal, but such is football anything can happen.

Why would Dyche want to come here as he has complete control of all footballing matters where he is

Hopefully Roy can hang in there at least until the club is sold and we are in a more settled position. What worries me is that his pragmatic approach means if we hit a lean spell he'll quickly see fans turn on him as the performances, in large part, have hardly been entertaining (VAR drama aside!) Part of me wants us to get a top 4 spot by playing the most negative football ever just to see Shearer, Linekar and the like crying like babies that we spoiled the party.

As to Popovic and Jedinak, it could work, but it could equally be a disaster. An experiment more likely to be seen if we were relegated.

One man's "pragmatic" is another man's "stubborn" and the biggest criticism of Roy on HOL is that when things aren't going well he doesn't use the subs to try something different

I agree. The Championship is the place for experiments and not the big money Premier League

Also, we've had a managerial vacancy plenty of times since Popovic retired from playing and, as far as I'm aware, he's never shown the slightest interest in applying or indeed any interest in us at all since he left. I'd say he's moved on and perhaps we should too?

I have certainly not warmed to the suggestion put forward in the opening post.

If Popovic and Jedinak had not played for us would anyone have advocated that the club should appoint them when Hodgson departs ?
