He was anonymous last night, as was Wilf in the first half.
Let's keep the ball this season! |

We were very defensive which meant that each player had very strict areas to operate in. When we went 2 down our tactics changed along with players and Wilf became more proactive. Kouyate had gone off by then.

Watched the 2nd half of Senegal vs. Uganda. He captains Senegal and plays center back. Looks very comfortable there.

He is utter w**k. Can't understand why we bought him. Offers nothing to the team and regularly gives the ball away.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

I don't think he will ever be a first choice regular in any position, squad player standard, we seem to have a lot of them.

Kouyate is a useful player to have around in that he can play with competence in both midfield and in central defence. He certainly played at centre-half for W.Ham when they had injuries and never really looked out of place.Leggy, athletic and strong.

I like him. He is very good at breaking up play and is a good physical presence. When he keeps his passing simple he is effective. Didn't get much of a consistent run in the team last season, so that probably effected his game a bit. Much prefer him to Schlupp in the centre.

He is the reason we don’t need to sign another centre half, we have Tomkins, Sakho first/second choice, Kelly third choice and if Dann goes which he probably should, Kouyate fourth choice. In a way that could work well for us and open up a space for someone a little more inspirational in midfield. He also has his moments with surging runs from midfield, a sort of poor mans Toure. Good squad player, I would keep him.
