TBF Le Tissier, who could have played virtually anywhere at his peak, proved himself to be a loyal servant to his club, Wilf has already left us once. I wish him absolutely nothing but luck with his career but I don't quite see him as the dutiful servant just yet. couldnt agree more have Zaha on par with AJ when he stayed for one season after relegation, but along way from big Jim Cannon, Jules and Stevie Kemper as loyal servants

I think the reality is somewhere in between with Wilf, in that as a person he likes to be a big fish in a little pond and it his bad experience of being at Man United along with homesickness that keeps him at Palace. I can well see him not wanting to risk this for as long as he is happy with us and so could well stay with us for a long time yet. No big club will be able nor willing to guarantee him playing time.

I suspect all the loyal servants from yesteryear, if they played for us now as the stand-out stars, would leave for an extra 20k a week and a chance of winning the league. If the opportunity were there. And they wouldn't do low-level coaching after they stopped playing to keep the money coming in.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Thing is, where is he going to want to go? Is he going to want to have to perform to the levels of Kane or Salah week in, week out or get slated like a Pogna or Lukaku? I don’t think Wilf will fancy that and that is exactly what will happen if he goes to a big club for big money. Why the hell would he want that when he’s on the wedge he’s on now, living where he wants to be playing for a club where he is adored. I think we’re pretty safe with Wilf and need to stop giving all this leaving stuff oxygen. Edited by Brentmiester_General (27 Apr 2018 7.50am)

We were in the Championship and the world's biggest club with one of the most successful British manager ever came in for him. It was a no brainer for both sides - at the time

Interesting that there's still this perspective on Wilf from some outside the club......it's a horrible article and headline....as if Levy would be bullied into anything...

When Zaha plays striker... He scores... Just noticed Zaha has almost 100% scoring record when he plays upfront in the 4-4-2...has Roy found the best place for Zaha as a striker rather than winger?

Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time! |

Lol, they do make me laugh. Who writes this s***? There is no way Zaha would go to Spurs. What all these articles linking the ‘22.5 m rated’ (wtf) winger fail to mention is wilfs wages.
