Yes, he has been out injured and know it takes a while to get back up and running. He seems to have left our party. And its not like we don't play to his strengths. I just feel its time he was dropped as he's not putting in a shift and hasn't show anything this season. Unsure if there would be a lot of interest, maybe Swansea, West Brom and a couple of sides around about us. I for one would be happy to let them try and get a tune out of him. To put a name out there. Callum Wilson. A player who had injury problems early in his career a few years ago.More recently he has been out injured - his last game last season was Jan 17 and his first game this season was in October this year.Has scored 5 goals in 12 games since his return this season. Certainly a good finisher and his work rate creates so much space - he harries and chases down opponents putting them under pressure.Useful player whom Eddie Howe signed for £3 Mill from Coventry. Good Knowledge. Been unlucky with two ACL's one after the other. He was instrumental in the year Bournemouth were promoted scoring 20 goals. Started life in the Premier League well before the injuries and inbetween. Pace, movement and a finisher. We could do worse. Id even take Danny Ings on loan in Jan Originally posted by Willo

So s***, he got the 15 goals that kept us up last season. Given a choice, I think I'd prefer it if so-called 'supporters' like you simply fcuked off. Sorry Dave normally on the same page as you but on this occasion I am afraid not. It's like playing with 10 men he is so bad. He must frustrate the coaching staff to bits and Hodgson is in a difficult position as if he drops him then his value will dive. Agree that his 15 goals kept us up last season but that was in the past and he has done nothing thus far to show that he will get anywhere near that. Ok he may be lacking in confidence but then work hard to get it back. His body language is awful and the rest has been said. As for putting his fingers in his ears at Leicester, all I will say Christian is show a little respect at the supporters who pay good money every week to watch you pay lip service to a coveted position and with it massive income stream. His arrogance knows no bounds!

You don't have to apologise for having an opinion. And I shouldn't get told to f*** off because someone doesn't agree! Think Dave got out the wrong side of bed. Maybe he needs to open his eyes and ears and see whats going on around him Sorry Dave normally on the same page as you but on this occasion I am afraid not. He might. But you can guarantee that he won't be working up too much of a sweat either way. Originally posted by Willo

I think the fans would support him, even if he wasnt scoring, if he just looked like he was trying. He makes little effort to loose his marker in the box, just stands there hoping the ball is going to drop right on his head. There were plenty of balls played into the box thursday and he got nowhere near amy of them. Must be a dream for defenders.

Wrighty mentioned some weeks back that his timing for a forward is not quite right. If a former striker like Wrighty sees this then it is clear it is something he needs to work on. Edited by Booted Eagle (30 Dec 2017 1.35pm)

Ive been banging on about it for ages, Benteke is s***! Ive seen more movement in the self service in Sainsbury His work rate is horrific, My section of the AW were giving it to him time after time vs Arsenal. BUT it makes no difference. He has ZERO football brain. His positioning is AWFUL. Often the ball will go out wide and instead of busting a nut to get near post/far post he will hang back on the edge of the area. I was watching him, clearances from corners. He was jogging out, the midfield got up to halfway before he did. Time to drop him and move him on. He is not good enough and not interested. Simple f*** OFF
Also, for someone who is pretty crap with hold up play, his turn and pass was pretty decent for the first goal. I'm not saying he's brilliant, and I definitely want another striker, preferably someone who could start instead of him, but people really need to stop picking on him just because they don't like him. Any positive contribution is ignored and people only notice the negatives. Before Benteke it was Cabaye who was the waste of money and not worth it. The constant need to have someone to dig out every game is ridiculous. He's only one game removed from scoring and assisting away at Leicester! On the flipside, players like Luka and McArthur can get away with lapses of concentration and/or losing possession cheaply (both guilty of that against Arsenal a few times) with no one mentioning it. Still not entirely convinced we are playing to his strengths either. People (often rightly) are often annoyed by his movement in the box, but if you look back at the goals he has scored for us, they aren't normally from a player beating the full back and getting to the byline. Where Benteke seems to thrive is the early ball into the box from slightly deeper. Middlesbrough and Everton away last season and his goal at Leicester instantly come to mind. When it's a bit more flighted and from deeper, he seems to be much better at getting in between centre halves and winning the header. Slightly different, but Bournemouth and Liverpool away last season, two goals scored on the break with a quick and decisive delivery into the box where he was able to get free of a defender. Both Wilf and RLC have a tendency to overplay. Sometimes it works nicely, but the more I watch I think it's clear that Benteke isn't a 'fox in the box' who is going to find space in a crowd of players.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |
