I feel sorry for Cameron - I believe Old Etonian, Telegraph Columnist and all round good Tory chap Charles Moore says it best "You often hear of people being “trapped in poverty”, but it is also possible to be trapped in wealth. This is David Cameron’s fate" There you have it - Dave is trapped in wealth...poor c*nt

So far I have yet to see any 'tax returns,' being published. I've seen a few selective statements of income come forth bit they are meaningless in the context of the current debate. You don't 'hide,' assets offshore unless they are worth hiding and if you earn a decent wedge - as dare I suggest politicians of any colour do, you may not need to worry about capital as you have enough income. It's mostly capital gets stashed offshore and that's what we need to stop as UK banks need said capital to lend back into the UK economy. Oh but tax is important as it pays for stuff most of us take for granted schools hospitals roads etc. One of the problems in tackling the large corporates is they have a tax team of say 200 total wage bill in the £millions poor old HMRC gets a team of probably 4 total wage bill £150k We don't invest in the quality we need to close the tax gap.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
