Ghostweazle. Go back to the BBS little man. You are much more at home with Maz and comrades. Ghosteagle is as welcome as anyone else on here, actually more so than those who abuse other posters. I'm sure stirling can fight his own battles without you poking your oar in. Cheers. So what are you doing then? Actually I appreciate Judge's post. Ghost does actually put out quite a lot of abuse.....Do you actually read his posts?

Thoughts It is easy to find comment about how much the Police spend on translation. With an under-cover (the supposedly non English speaking suspects do not know that all they say is understood) officer in the room there may be more justice dispensed. As the number of people who like to share secrets in public in a foreign language increases, the risk of comment being found interesting increases. European legislation provides for use instructions to be in all EU recognised languages - measuring a clothes-care label on a new garment can be interesting. It is always good to stop before causing offence.

It's not just the Met. I lived in Preston, Lancashire for quite a few years. I applied for the Lancashire Constabulary on two occasions. I didn't even make the interview stage, this despite being ex army, a personal trainer (so I have experience of dealing with people on a face to face basis), and being more than physically fit enough to do the job. You'll only get in the police these days if you are gay (no I'm not homophobic for arguments sake), an ethnic minority or you have some sort of of physical affliction. The whole selection process is a joke and the police I see these days are woefully out of shape, soft and bovinely stupid. Of course not all police are like this, but these days it's all about sexual orientation, ethnicity and having retail experience. Generally to get into the police force you need to serve as a police special and have a specific qualification. One of the guys on this site's daughters just did that. Did you do that?

Yes, you do. I think you can get special assistance in the course in terms of tutouring (which I don't really agree with, but understand because the police generally want ethnic officers to work in areas of non-white population dense areas). Ironically I turned down a job two years ago with the Police, who wanted to recruit me as a specialist.

Personally I'm glad I didn't join the police, which was my intention at 18.

Yes, and your posts as well. You're not entirely the victim in all this, are you? And to answer your first question last, Judge's post was reported to Moderators as abusive so as a Moderator I took what I thought was appropriate action. Edited by Moose (23 Jul 2015 8.22am) I fight my corner yes, but I don't have a desire to get involved in name calling. If that last post by Judge has been considered abusive.....Then, I perhaps should start regularly reporting 'abuse' because I let a lot of stuff go. If some are going to be sensitive and be successful with it then we should all do the same perhaps? I thought it was all about context and swear words.

For your information the complaint was not made by Ghosteagle.
