Ancelotti is about as good a coach as it is possible to be but look where Everton are in the league. And we lack their name network and resources. If Parrish's long term plans bear fruit someone like this is a future option. However dyche would be a better option now to get us there.

Wouldn"t suprise me if fat Sam took over after Roy, when ever Roy decides to go, maybe after next season. But if Roy walks this season, fat Sam might walk from wba, and there you have it, depending how well he got on with Steve.

All this speculation, fascinating as it may be, pre-supposes that we are actually looking for a new manager. Are we? I’d be happy if Hodgson was offered another year, even if it was only to ensure Howe didn’t get the gig which, in my opinion, would be a bad idea. I might take a risk on certain managers but not Howe. He has great PR and a boyish grin but I am far from convinced he is an EPL manager! That all said this summer is crucial for Palace. With all those players and thenmanager out of contract it is an ideal time for a new broom - but a broom that has guile and a serious and sensible plan. And all this with a business with highly unprecedented and unpredictable financial issues. Over to you Steve!!!!

We have been linked with at least 5 managers for the apparent successor to Roy .But strange none of them have publically stated that there not interested in the job ,or there has been no contact ? Strange or is Roy staying and they have not been contacted at all ?

If Roy is to go, we have to aim big. This is our opportunity to make a statement like Leeds did by bringing in Bielsa. I’m keen on Benítez who is free and stated his hope to return to the Premier League. Aside from him, why not Joachim Low or Frank Rijkaard or Scolari? These are big names in world football and would really put us on the radar for investors, sponsors and new signings. I can’t help but feel that we are ‘settling’ for the likes of Dyche or Howe just because. It’s not not particularly inspiring and for me would demonstrate a lack of ambition.
