. . . & i mean as in the number of names being bandied about, its as if Roy doesn't exist.

I'd like to think that our longlist was whittled down some time ago to a shortlist that has been sounded out already to a final final list of up to 5 potentials who are going through the recruitment process

I read yesterday that Celtic weren't best pleased because it looked like Howe was backing out because his family didn't want to move that far north (apparently they struggled with moving upto Burnley).

That makes Newcastle unlikely as well.

He is awaiting for us to come in for him, though the comments about Brighton would make sense as well (if he has been contacted quietly).

I also saw a list of odds today, in which Dyche wasn't even on the list, so could not really take it seriously.

Lampard, Howe, Benitez, Terry, Lee Johnson, Pardew (!!!!!!!!), Carrick.

Why would you want Howe Lampard would be a better bet, he's young and had a brilliant career playing for Chelsea and England. Steve Coppell didn't turn out too bad did he?

As against a man who spent a s***load of money and still took his team back into the Championship.

I imagine Frank Lampard thought the same recently at Chelsea.

I imagine Arsene Wenger thought the same at Arsenal.

Resignations are rare in football compared to sackings.

If the belief that got you the job in the first place is still there, you're not going to resign.

Also if you resign you probably don't get a payoff

I'd be amazed if Brighton dump Potter. They dumped Houghton after he got them up and kept them up on the very public grounds that they wanted to play better football, and were so committed to what they wanted Potter to do in the long term that they extended his initial four year contract by two or three years extra within almost no time at all.

As much as it hurts if they had a proper finisher they would be where Leeds are.

Whatever did we do to Chris Sutton to make his dislike so much. Anyone know?

Celtic get about as far as Dundalk in the Champions League. Admittedly, they have had past successes but Scottish football is not exactly Brazil, or even Sunderland. Celtic should employ one of their own current coaches. It's not going to be hard to finish second.
