If I had my way, yes. Obviously there would be financial compensation. Unless they put the houses to the use for which they are intended, ie habitation, rather than as an 'asset' / 'investment'
It is morally scandalous that houses lie empty while there are people on the street.

The government can't afford market rate on private houses. We need millions of new homes.....We need to ensure that they go to people who need them and not those looking at profiteering.

Far, far, far cheaper to build new houses.

Yer totally wrong on Corbyn.

What makes you think that?

It's it just the under belly of the left coming out?

Loads of new Labour will leave and vote Tory. There isn't enough actual socialists in England to fill Milton Keynes let alone win an election.

Corbyn is unpopular on:

The EU
Immigration
Nuclear weapons
Foreign policy......wants to negotiate away the Falklands

Not the thread to debate Corbyn. It's hard enough to navigate all the pseudo racist immigration threads as it is.

It isn't good enough for the left to say.....Oh well, money isn't going to be spent on the homeless or the waiting lists so more immigrants and asylum is perfectly ok.

The simple truth is that increasing the number of people requiring houses worsens the situation and waiting lists for the rest......It doesn't have minimal impact.

The left were meant to stick up for the British working class.

The reality is that they don't.....They are egalitarians.....Which is mostly a nice idea but it means that ultimately they don't put British working people first.

All they see is working people.

They are quite prepared to lower living standards here for the most vulnerable in society to act as the 'world's carer'.

The British working class were right to dump Labour long ago......The problem is that Labour are a bit slow on the uptake.....They actually think they are going to win these people back.

Labour in England now are not far off of being a jumped up pressure group.....Especially if Corbyn gets in.

Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Sep 2015 5.39pm)

Yes,I know your views Stirling.

The left were meant to stick up for the underdog. They weren't, as perversely happened in pre-war in South Africa meant to call for "white workers of the world to unite".

Funny how Corbyn is actually (more than any other party) proposing concrete policy to try and tackle the housing crisis.I think you live in a dream world if you think the underlying reasons for the housing crisis and homelessness stem primarily from immigration.

I'm not sure someone can be a 'pseudo racist'.

I love an immigration thread......Probably a little too much.

A sensible, sober decision from Cameron. Taking 20,000 of the most vulnerable from camps in Syria over a period of five years. A 0.03% increase in population in exchange for completely transforming the lives of kids in dire need.

Going back to the posts original heading.

Maybe the attached link is one of the reasons why the British people have had enough of immigration.

Yet another Asian gang raping our children!

Hope these scum bags get the f@ucking sh@t kicked out of then in prison. Would quite happily do it myself!

Funny how you didn't appear to have got equally outraged and have felt the need to post about this gang of 10,"raping our children" for example.

[Link]

Then again, they don't appear to be immigrants or of Asian descent and as we all know "Asians" are predisposed to be child abusers more than "us",so therefore,as the OP said,"no more immigrants"!

No Legal - I don’t think there is anything "funny" at all about this, personally I find it pretty damn disgusting, regardless of where the child rapist come from.
What there is though (which you and the other lefties will no doubt deny) is a culture of degrading women among Muslim society. Look at Syria at the moment – there is wide spread rape taking place among its women folk.
I know you will pull out this stat or that stat to show how every race or nationality has exactly the same amount of weirdos/perverts/criminals etc as any other, but you are wrong legal, Muslims are time and time and time again getting caught for this.
When I heard about this on the news, I expected they would be Muslims before I even heard any details, the strange thing is, Ayesbury hardly has any Muslims, and yet guess what, they did turn out to be Muslims!
I’m glad you seem to be OK about this, because I’m pretty not f@cking Ok with this. Any of these c@nts ever come near one of my daughters and I would f@cking kill them.

Corbyn thinks he can get councils to build 240,000 houses a year minimum......Don't make me laugh.

As for your immigration point......240,000.....With net immigration into the country being way higher than that.....240,000 is probably only a catch up of around about 100,000 houses a year.

And that's if you could ensure that these houses only went to people who really needed them.

I've never made the point that the housing crises is only down to immigration. I've recognised the problem of an aging population and of governments selling off council housing stock and not replacing it.

Housing associations have jumped into between the gap.....And they are a much poorer deal for the working class than your old council house.

Camemoran is allowing 20k plus more to come here , feel sorry for people on the housing waiting list .

How long have you been in Thailand? Do they even still have council waiting lists. I thought these days it was housing benefit, private landlords and housing associations.

I am in England last 2 years running my business .
should change where i am on header.

90 percent of land not built on......Nick you do love a sound bite.....really......All the gardens in the country are included in that silly figure.

There is nothing like 90 percent of land suitable for building houses on.

Corbyn is the only (high profile) MP saying this, you agree with it in principle, yet deride him.
