Private education privilege is a thing. I have seen companies shout out their virtue tick box; but only a modicum of investigation will reveal that all those females and Asians they recruit had in excess of the cost of an average family home spent on their education. White privilege is an artificial construct created to support a socio-political agenda. As such, it should not be taught in schools. PS what is this issue doing on this thread? This report, from 84 NHS Trusts they deal with it every day. And you are worse off being poor than in practically any other EU country as income levels are not enough to meet basic needs.

I am from a single parent family from a council estate - but I am white so I guess everyone white gets that.

Personally they recognised that I was so gifted that they sent me to special school.

Turning grammar schools into comprehensives damaged the prospects of many bright working class children.

I am from a single parent family from a council estate - but I am white so I guess everyone white gets that. I didn’t. I left school at 16 after 5 years in a secondary modern and 5 “O” levels. I too lived on a council estate and my head teacher wanted me to go on to take “A” levels and to University as he saw my potential. My mother though would not allow it. She regarded me at 16 as a breadwinner, not another cost. So I worked, but did OK anyway. Whether I would have prospered more with a degree is something I have often considered. It didn’t matter once I achieved management positions. Once there it was performance that won, but I might have got there earlier and then who knows.
