Maybe we should change the thread title to read Signings on the way... at West Ham, Southampton and even Arsenal. : I will, just for you, if the current status quo continues past the deadline

I believe there will be 3 signings Ferguson being one of these one more permanent and the other a loan. If one of those is Jordon Ibe and the other a youth development or Lewis signing, the board can just resign. They should at least get a left footed winger in. Bowen was a good solution. I gave an entire list of left footed players who can be brought in if that doesn't happen. Same characteristics. Now we're jumping from Bowen-Townsend type of player cutting through the center on the left foot to right footed liniar player like Jordon Ibe and who has done nothing for 4 years.

I can't see us ever going near Ibe, but if we did then I am going to drown myself in a bath of hot coffee.

A couple days ago I said we had bob hopes chance of signing anyone, later that day looked like I would be eating some humble pie wrong, don’t care who we may or may not sign now we are a MICKY MOUSE CLUB. F. K I hate saying that about us. I like Roy and think he’s done great but he’s football is boring and he’s not been supported from above. When was the last good transfer market we had I think under Sam.

Lots of internet activity in the last half hour saying that Eberechi Eze will not be leaving QPR this transfer window. Michael Bridge at the Palace training ground also very downbeat about it saying talk of a move for Eze has ‘gone quiet’.

We are a Micky Mouse Club,of that, there is no dispute. What a loud of absolute cobblers. We are 11th in the Premiership, four points off the top 6 and 7 points clear of relegation, two thirds of the way through our seventh continuous season in the top flight. What is your plan for the future? What are you going to use for money? Who would you sign and for how much? Seriously, we are never ever going to reach top 6 (without oil money), we are overachieving massively and have done for a number of years. Yes, accuse me of having no ambition, but actually the last seven seasons have seen the club reach all my ambitions and more. One of the problems that I have referred to before is the fact that we now have so many supporters who have grown up watching football on tv, know nothing other than the Premiership, and think that always moving forward in the Premiership is the only ambition worth having, even if it bankrupts the club yet again. Get a sense of perspective and history. Edited by midlandspalace (31 Jan 2020 12.47pm)

And if you don't invest in your squad, where do you end up? Sunderland,Wigan Division 1 , seriously overpaid mercenaries refusing to leave and bleeding us dry and the distinct possibility of administration. Is that what you really want?

When was the last good transfer market we had I think under Sam. We got Ayew, Cahill, and McCarthy for around 7m last summer. The summer before we got Kouyate, Guaita, and Meyer for 12m. Unless, of course, you mean spending big. Thank god we’ve avoided that after bringing in Benteke and Sahko. The costs of those two have, in essence, hamstrung the club. We are clearly looking at younger players give the ones for the future who have arrived, and the one whose medical is problematic. That is the way forward for a club like ours, and given some of the injury problems we have had it seems reasonable to be concerned over a failed medical.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |
