So on Saturday there was a major march, anti Boris (due to his stance on leaving without a deal) and anti Brexit. Where were the media? I saw coverage of around 5 pro-Brexit demonstrators but nothing on thousands of 'March for Change' ones. The BBC is controlled by the right wing in this country, even though its workforce tends to be left wing. Now where have I heard that before? Even when finally it covered the march it said 'hundreds of people' and only changed that to 'thousands' late in the day. Goodness knows how many turned up because the national media didn't cover it. This fitted right into the BBC agenda and you know it. The reason it wasn't covered must have been lack of numbers. They wouldn't be able to take the piss out of it like they did with Farage - as that would alienate the Guardian readers and their fan-club - so they ignored it.

The BBC is in the pocket of a certain faction of the Conservative party and is Farage's biggest supporter. It is also highly anti Corbyn and takes every opportunity to knock the Labour party. And have you seen its coverage of the Liberal Democrats/Greens/Plaid Cymru? Of course you haven't, it doesn't have any. Whether that is because it is right wing at the top (it is) or running scared of the right of the Conservative party that is threatening to kill it off (it is) is a moot point.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'BBC Bias' by Penge Eagle The BBC relentlessly pushes the remain agenda - it's obvious from the "mix" of people invited on to every political show and the relentless pushing of project fear. Farage and the like are only every invited on because (1) They have to and (2) So they can gang up and smear people with accusation of racism and the like. The BBC relentlessly pushes Feminism to the point that they assume every woman is or should be a radical feminist (the majority in the real world are not) at the expense of any positive traditional male values or strengths. In fact these are actively denigrated. Men are basically now rapists not to be trusted and women are a protected class. The BBC relentless pushes LGBTQXYZ as a direct attack on the traditional family unit. Pretty much every other kind of family is fine other than the traditional one. There is absolutely no voice for social conservatism at the BBC. The BBC completely avoids any discussion on any negative effects of mass immigration. It's just not acceptable and racist. They might drag on Rod Liddle late at night to berate him (as they did recently). Farage knows he can't even broach the subject any more without being attacked yet you can make a video about all white people being racist and that's fine. News they don't like goes unreported, is missing key facts or is spun somehow as a positive or the opposite of what it actually is. At the same time they are working directly with political activists like hope not hate to smear and lie about people with different world views and push fake news. The BBC is predictably pro-choice, anti-gun, anti-trump, pro mass-immigration, pro-censorship, anti-police, extremely socially liberal and are now pushing an extreme socialist/communist/inter-sectional/identitarian/de-constructional agenda. They still think the Tories are right wing FFS. Women, Muslims and ethnic minorities, Gays, Trans are all clearly over represented for the sake of diversity but there can be no diversity of thought. Same with Sky and CH4 news. White working class people despite still being the majority in this country are almost entirely unrepresented unless they are socialists. The white working class are basically now the "far right". All of the above has formed unrealistic opinions of what's actually going on in the world and our own country and ignores constant danger we can invite if people with different (and often valid) opinions and concerns are ignored or even demonized. The BBC is part of a culture that is now making the country more racist, sexist and homophobic but it doesn't even know it. In short, the BBC and the mainstream media are dismantling everything that's traditionally good about this country including it's tolerance. The BBC is cancer. Edited by W12 (22 Jul 2019 4.23pm)

Edited by W12 (22 Jul 2019 4.23pm) A truly excellent post and I endorse every word. The BBC's remit is to be impartial and balanced yet I don't know of any social conservatives who appear on screen and the only time social conservationism is represented is in a critical light. Social liberalism definitely deserves its voice at the BBC however it does not deserve to dominate a publicly funded institution.....which decides who gets the megaphone handed to them and how they are represented. The BBC was not intended to be 'The Guardian' however that's what its latter day leaders allowed to happen and that will play its part in its downfall....because the debate is now polarised and its supporters are nearly all on one side. As former BBC Robin Aitken said....'The Noble Liar'. Edited by Stirlingsays (22 Jul 2019 4.34pm)

They fully showed all of those parties' conferences for the three and a half people who watched them. I turned over.

Yet another attack on masculinity by lefties in universities and the BBC. Pushing the notion that there is something that needs to be 'corrected' about traditional male mindsets......with no questioning or self awareness about their own approach or mindsets at all.

I can see where you're coming from but if this helps male students then fair enough. We all know suicide is more common amongst men. Where I live it is almost a weekly occurrence but nothing is really said about it. I'm surprised they could be bothered to promote men's health in any way as they would have got more funding in promoting female health or some kind of anti-sexual assault on campus campaign (all done by men of course). Edited by ASCPFC (02 Aug 2019 12.31pm) Males will always commit suicide more than females as that's the genetic reality of their sex. Males take more dangerous jobs, take bigger risks and so on and so forth. However, the scale has....in my view....been made worse in recent decades by the adoption of anti male forms of feminism and the messaging that male emasculation is a positive. Society does not promote positive masculine role models and instead mostly demonsies them. This is a factor in my view. So lefties offering help on male suicide gets nothing but anger from me. These people only want a certain type of male....they are a hindrance not a help.

Never really seen that argued and would be interested to understand the logic.

I think the tendency towards male suicide is partly explained by higher levels of male aggression. Nature seems to adjust for the tendency of males to take risks and on average die younger by having slightly more female births. The genetic make of males is consistent with their 'hunter' and reproductive biological purposes. Whereas the 'gather' and maternal tendencies of females is also consistent with their genetics....This can be seen in the differences in hormone levels and physical structures between the sexes. Obviously there are many many variations between these two typical standards, Here is an interesting clip on differences between males and females. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Aug 2019 3.24pm)

BBC article on a new festival that celebrates 'African unity'...the the African Diaspora and related stories. Now I think that's fine. However, what is termed 'celebrating' for Africans would be termed 'supremacy' for another group. Identity politics for me, but not for thee.
