meanwhile we have 90,000 + children homeless living in shelters, B&B's and hostels.

It is reported that as many as 9,000 war veterans are among Britains homeless which I belive as a total is about 10% of Britains total homeless figure.

But heyt fcuk it, lets have 10,000 people already in a camp in shelter and safe from harm, (that are from a country that isnt as f***ed up as eveyone seems to think, try Sierra Leone, now thats f***ed.) jump the cue and have the red carpet rolled out for them.

Why ?

Why are our own children, veterans who fought for the country, and British people being treated as second class citizens, being largely ignored.

Sickens me to my stomach.

The UK homeless situation is disgusting and it was long before we started discussing or even seeing Syrian refugees.

There is no point in turning our back on them as if it will somehow miraculously help the UK citizens who need help too. It won't.

For whatever reason housing has been left to laissez- faire economics in our supposedly civilised country and the unlucky losers are..........

A very valid question in its own right, but irrelevant to the migration problem. The Conservatives have solved Child Poverty by redefining it (Labour were no better).

Fact is even if we took back all that foreign aid and never allowed a single refugee or immigrant into the UK, the problems of suffering facing children, adults and veteran's would just continue same as it always has.

Successive governments have had 25 plus years to solve the increasing problems of homelessness and child poverty and its only gotten worse. But hey, at least we had tax cuts.....

It is a disgrace in a wealthy country like ours and we are all to blame in one sense.
I often wonder why we spend so much money on the British Olympic team for example when some are homeless.
I can only imagine that the realities of dealing with homelessness and child poverty are far more complex than they appear. Surely any government would want to fix it if it were simple. Throwing money at it alone is not ther solution I suspect.

Yep I agree, but taking 10,000 people that we know nothing about is not going to ease it at all.
I do hope that these people are going to be vetted in some way,if not I fear we might have more IS fanatics than we did before.

This is a concern.

It is easy to demonise these people but equally easy to see them as innocents.
The truth is we don't know what these people are like and how they think.
This is the trouble with media politics. Everything becomes simplified. It is inevitable, as with all migrants, that some will be bad eggs. Let's hope they are not the kind who want to become terrorists or indulge in criminal enterprise.

Someone owns those homes as they are perfectly entitled to do. That is capitalism. Would you advocate taking those houses away from their owners ?

I'd love to know how many are actually ready to house people too. I'd guess the majority of truly empty homes are not ready to go or even fit for purpose without having money spent on them.

TOTAL b******s have responded to the refugee crisis with a sudden interest in looking after their neighbours.

54-year-old Mary Fisher, who has never done anything except antagonise those around her, wants to prioritise the local poor people that she described last week as ‘useless bonk-eyed f***ers’.

She said: “It’s all very well with these migrants, but first we’ve got to help the little kiddies at home who are going to bed with empty stomachs.

“I have no personal interest in doing that, but in theory that is what we should do.”

Retired bus driver and b****** Norman Steele has also discovered a sudden interest in local charity.

He said: “There are unemployed families on my road that are really hungry, I know this because I shoot at them with an air gun when they come near my vegetable patch.

“These refugees may be fellow members of the human race but that is not enough reason to help them. What matters is not a person’s level of desperation but their geographical proximity to your sofa.”

It should be a concern when ascertaining status, but is it really that likely that someone who's been fighting for IS in Syria is going to cross the frontlines, track across the country, over the borders and into the refugee camps, so that they can wait for a few years to get into a random country?

IS has the money, logistics and capability to get people into countries through more efficient methods. They also tend to prefer to use people from those countries.

More likely they'd use human traffickers to get someone into a country, than pin their hopes on the roulette of Asylum.
