I hope he goes to Lazio and gets that crack at the Champions League before his career ends although not sure they can afford the £10million a year salary. A year or so there then off to Saudi to add to the pension fund. Presumably he won’t make a decision til after the honeymoon. It would be nice to think he’d have told Steve if he’s not coming back so se can get on with the job of finding a replacement. He’s been a great servant to the club but definitely lost something of his edge in the last couple of seasons. Still got the tricks and an eye for goal but lost a bit of pace and at times looked disinterested. Also a bit more prone to injuries maybe although he does get more than his fair share of abuse from opponents. Good time for a new challenge for him and for us to move on. “Can’t win without Zaha” is history. There are new kids in town.

So many people seem to think Steve and Dougie are just sitting by the fone on baited breath waiting on Wilf to say yes or no before they go off and deal with any transfer business. Truth is that the palace board already know if his leaving or even if hes still just considering the contract and ploughing on regardless. Steve's said on many occasion that at the level we are doing business most of the main targets will be waiting on the dominos to fall in other deals before we can make ours. If you agree with him or not it will always be the way he does business while he's writing the cheques and balancing the books.

What ever happened to the Palace DNA Steve and we don't want any player who are not 100 percent committed to the club . How do you know? Parish is well aware of what Zaha is up to and is (hopefully) taking the appropriate action. Don't forget that Parish never tells the fanbase what he is up to

Might be worth considering the fact that the club and Zaha know what decision he has made - the only people that don't know is the fans. Let's say hypothetically he has re-signed, he's not around to do the press and the photo shoot etc. The club will want to make a big deal out of it and he's not available to do that with right now. Hence why we (the fans) have been left waiting. Also, for what it's worth - no player is bigger than any club of course, but I do think Wilf has definitely earned himself time from the club to make a decision on what he wants to do next. Especially given everything that has gone on in his personal life over the last month or so...

Especially given everything that has gone on in his personal life over the last month or so... Agree all round there. I am also not inclined to believe Parish or anyone else is awaiting some sort of grand announcement from Wilf. They probably already know the score even if it is not definite. Doesn't make it true of course just my opinion. We have been linked with all manner of winger which does suggest he may be gone however we do need one in any instance. Might also be worth noting if he did truly intend to leave perhaps he would have said so. Would seem strange for both him and the club to allow his departure without really marking it in any way, there's also a mural of him that has just gone up which would be bizarre if he were an opposition player next season would it not???
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I would argue it’s Palace who have earned the right to know what he’s up to given the amount of money he earned out of his last contract. Holding Palace to ransom for any period of time reflects badly on him and to be honest reflects poorly on the team too, as they should be more pro-active in finding a suitable replacement. Imagine the furore if we get within a few weeks of the window closing with no Wilf and no replacement.

It's fairly obvious to me whats going on. Zaha has told Parish he wants to leave. Parish has said he wants him to stay, and has made a (very good) offer, but understands that he wants to and has earned the right to look for one last big challenge. what I hope is that we SP is not waiting for definate decision on Zaha, because as long as that offer is on the table, then he cannot spend the money!

I don't think anything is obvious here and it is still 50-50. It's hard to know exactly what is holding things up but I'd hope we'll get a decision on Wilf shortly and perhaps other plans can then be pursued, one way or the other. One thing is for sure, whatever the Wilf outcome, we still need a new, decent striker and I hope we see some action here soon.
