You SO miss the point in your froth of indignation... quite apart from the question of are you even sure illegal entry or overstaying in the USA is a criminal offence... The point is the hypocrisy of people that so rely on immigrant labour to do essential s***ty jobs...and the hypocrisy of those who froth indignantly about "ilegals" but had no qualmsa about having had an "illegaL" Meican nanny,housekeeper or shopping in a mall cleaned at night by "illegal" workers so it would be tidy for the shoppers the next day... I have a friend..fell in love with US culture like so many of us did at the time...went there,loved it...overstayed illegally...always paid her taxes...eventually after 10 years there was an amnesty so she got her "papers".Been there 35 years now....Her a criminal? I have a friend..fell in love with US culture like so many of us did at the time...went there,loved it...overstayed illegally...always paid her taxes...eventually after 10 years there was an amnesty so she got her "papers".Been there 35 years now....Her a criminal? About as much as you are an unbiased pundit!

That amnesty incidentally was under a Republican President Reagan. My take on all this? Is there will be some type of wall built, be it a mix of physical & some sort of E verification to check who comes in & out of the country. There will also be a round up of the so called Bad Hombre's the Gang Bangers, people wanted on Rape, Murder, Child sex abuse, Drug dealers etc.
