Remember that when we had those 30 odd shots in a half vs Leicester, scored 4 vs West Ham, beat Bournemouth, Wilf was on the pitch and contributing heavily.

We looked pretty toothless vs Forest, Everton and Wolves when he wasn't playing.

The only times we looked decent in attack without him playing were vs Leeds and Southampton and most of the league took them to town.

We were in all of those games you mention and unlucky in some. Leicester , West Ham and Bournemouth were there for the taking and were all in poor form.

Was at Forest when he missed the penalty, sulked and did nothing for the rest of the game. £200k a week? Not that good I am afraid. Saudi with Gerrard, not the best way to end your career.

The facts are Wilf is no longer on the payroll.
He is no different to any other click bait that you read about. He is our ex star.
I would be very happy to secure his services but at £200,000 a week I would say Parish is confused. Imagine if we were considering another top premier 30 year old on those terms with dodgy hamstrings.
However, £100k a week on a one year contract then maybe but with his recent injuries I would be very nervous. Our track record of signing injured players is poor.

Come on you lot, I see three possible outcomes.

1. Parish executes his well oiled Wilf exit strategy that he has had 4.5 years to think about and we pounce on our replacement transfer targets before the start of preseason.

2. We flap about like a bunch of love sick old ladies trying to work out why he's left us for another woman...secretly hoping its not true and he'll come back to us because he still loves us really.

3. Wilf decides not to go anywhere else and takes the £200k a week, but plays with his bottom lip out as he wanted CL football and doesn't want to be here anymore really...

As an established PL club, option 1 is what should happen but wont in a month of Sundays. So its time to say thanks for the memories, some good some not so, its been fun but its time to go our separate ways - so good luck in the Saudi or Turkish leagues.

Daily Mail is reporting Wilf has left us.

Yet to confirm what club he will go to. Free agent.

I don't think 'stringing everyone along' is quite right. He's had other things taking priority....like getting Married !
No Idea if he's on honeymoon now, but if he is, we ain't going to hear anything til after that.

i like your rose tinted glasses. It was 0.0 when Wilf limped off against Leicester and he also left the field very early v Bournemouth, albeit after a great turn for the 1st goal.

Yes he played v West Ham but other than his goal, which was a slight mis-hit BTW, didn't feature in the other goals.

The only time we scored 5 last season Wilf wasn't playing.

Clearly a Palace side with Wilf in it is a stronger and more creative team, however, if you are trying to argue that we only play well when he plays the last 10 games have proved otherwise.

Lazio ticks a lot of boxes as they are in the CL, finished second in Serie A last season and they are in a European metropolitan city that is easily reachable from London. I couldn't see him moving to Italy, but unlike the Saudi and Turkish offers this would actually be seen as a step up rather than a pay day, plus in Sarri he'd be playing under a world class manager who might have the ability to progress in the CL and not just make an appearance. Like most I imagine, I just hope if he leaves it is outside of England.

His language background would commend him To PSG.

But surely he knows they are the Tottenham of the Champions league. Never win anything. Expensive, toothless, and always looking for glory on the horizon.

I wonder does he hate Patrice Evra for that punditry faux pas ?
