So unite are calling out Felixstowe dock workers for 8 days of strikes because a pay rise of between 8.1% and 9.6% isn’t high enough and below the rate of inflation.
Do the unions live in the real world. Ok so it’s below but ffs 8% minimum. If they are given said rate of inflation rises will they give it back when inflation drops down next year which is expected? I doubt it !
If labour win the next election this will be the absolute norm so get ready for a total s*** show if it happens!

The Progressive Left v Eddie Dempsey. Keep an eye out for it. Has potential.

I knew this love-in with toxic, white, heterosexual, Trade Union leaders would not last long but even so, we are not even into the coming winter of MASSIVE discontent and Starmer are co are already looking to destroy the very movement who created them.

We literally have a country will to countenance re-nationalisation, limits of rent hikes and all kinds of other left-wing economic policies and yet, if I am reading the tea leaves, correctly, the Progressive Left is about to try and effectively cancel the very Union leadership who could deliver it what it supposedly wants.

Our entire political elite, both Left and Right, might as well have bar codes on them for scanning by whichever foreign and/or corporate interests want to buy them up.

The right-wing Swedish Democrats are now the largest party in the latest poll.

The election is in just a few weeks.

More and more Swedish are tired of the negatives that neo liberal globalism has introduced into their formerly low crime and socially cohesive country.

In the last twelve years, I've been working with an increasing workload year on year yet, in real terms, ie what my salary can buy, I have had a pay cut of 35%.The biggest annual rise we've had is 2%, tops. In 12 years.

I don't think we're alone.

I'm wondering if me and my colleagues are living in the real world and should be happy with this rather than moaning on like a bunch of 'snowflakes'

Waddya reckon Cryrst?

Like you my annual rise for 5 years has been 2% so I’m in the same boat.
Might get a bit more this year but I can always quit and get another job as you can.
Tbh I’m a gas engineer amongst other skills who generates income for my company so am valued. I get back what I put in with a few hours here and there with no questions from the boss. I am mobile and am not clock watched. What’s not to like and also money isn’t my god. If I get from jan 1st to dec 31st in no worse a position I’ve had a good year. Waddya reckon glazier ?
