I would normally agree but given both this and Whelan's comments have been relatively quickly followed by industrial action, I am not sure you can just dismiss it.

I don't know, that's my point about context. Those photos tell us nothing posted as they have been. I and I suspect everyone else learn nothing from them.

When you compare the original image he posted to the video you can see the difference, that may well apply with subsequent photos

The industrial action has been brewing. The DFT are complicit in failing to listen to the unions concerns about a guarantee of a second person to deal with train despatch. Southern have already said they're needed but won't guarantee there will be one. The guarantee is the sticking point

You keep posting photos like they prove something.

They don't. Unless you add some context they're completely irrelevant

The CCTV is pretty poor, nor is it real time. In 2009 a guard used CCTV to close the doors instead of getting out on to the platform at Horley. Company disciplined him. They said he cut corners on safety.
I am genuinely surprised that customers/passengers think the CCTV is safe, I can understand them disagreeing with the strike, but to say the CCTV is fine genuinely shocks me.
Maybe Southern are the good guys, maybe it's just me. I'm open to having my mind changed... but as things stand, I've not seen anyone put forward any kind of counter argument as to why using the in cab CCTV in class 377 trains is safe.

Southern have also muffed up by telling drivers it won't negotiate. They shouldn't have put this in writing, if this is there stance... use line managers to deliver the message, not a letter that can be posted on twitter/Facebook

I don't think anyone will say Southern are good guys.

Because the public see them being used on other lines and perhaps because they trust the unions as much as they like Southern?

So you think the CCTV is adequate?

I am open to persuasion either way.

I am not against it that's for sure.

I think the CCTV is substandard. I can understand why drivers are worried about using it, especially if they're the ones going to prison if they kill someone.

So the images posted on here, would you be happy to rely on them if you were a driver?

As I said in previous posts, if you look at your original image compared to the video it came from, they are very different in quality.

I've posted 7 different images on this thread. Would you be happy to rely on this to close the doors ? Remember your job and liberty depend on it.

Why show that image and not one of the screen underneath where it would appear the driver has a lot more images?

I am obviously not qualified to answer whether 8 images ar enough but the in terms o f quality of image then they look fine to me.

Each image represents one coach, so if one image isn't working, the driver can't see the doors on the aforementioned coach.

Fair play for admitting you don't have the required knowledge to have a informed opinion.

Some people don't have any knowledge, but offer theories as fact. So kudos for admitting there is gaps in your knowledge, and it would be foolhardy to offer a opinion on the complexities of the strike.
