Humour relates in some way to truth, even if it's exaggerated or partial.

For example, mother in law jokes relate to married in family tensions that most people have experienced in one way or another.

It seems to me just to be another rightish myth. Nor does anyone see evil criminals who prey on the vulnerable as "victims". What total garbage. That mistakes were made looks to be obvious, but to suggest this was a deliberate policy based on some kind of sympathy for the criminals is really pretty ridiculous.
