Thanks that surprised me, although they do love their cheap labour. There has long been a scheme where seasonal farm workers can apply for temporary work permits, which are valid from March/April until October. Certain nationals outside of the EU could also apply, the list is somewhat fluid so I cannot advise which countries are now eligible. Check the date.

Have you an example and which companies? We had keelings in ireland. At the time of peak covid paranoia , they flew a planeload of Romanians into the country to work as fruit-pickers. Much public consternation in the mass media. Employers like open borders. Cheap labour is good for their profit sheet. You seen all the downward pressure on wages in the last 30 years ? Meanwhile housing has got more and more expensive. Imagine a coal mine town up North. If the mine was to be reopened , would they employ brits or migrants ?

I'm glad we left the EU, I just hope this government start doing what it promised as we really don't need as much cheap labour going forward.

Seeing references to checking the date, my mind has gone back to 1066. That was the last successful invasion into the UK. Sadly, the whole word speaks its own version of English with variations - we use bum bag; in the US they use fanny sack. This make the UK attractive, for people all over the world. I suspect that the French may be enjoying the opportunity to conquer us again.

Despite what some on here may think, I do not like the way the old school tie network operates. However could never vote for Labour with the influence of Momentum et al. As for the LibDems.. enough said. I just get perfect off with people’s perception of impoverished refugees arriving, when the majority are economic refugees, I have seen enough abuse of the system to last 2 lifetimes
Yeah, lidl lager, 8 bottles for £1.99, french stuff, not bad at all! Works out to 50p a pint, cheap as chips!

Being racially prejudiced? Uh uh. Hiding to avoid being questioned? Doesn’t matter. Being incompetent? Who cares? Plotting to beat people up? Twas nothing.
