See my previous post.

Which is not really relevant to my point (as, quite obviously, I used the cctv example as that was the bit that was topical in those posts).
I'm saying (and I do not mean this disrespectfully) that you would back the union whatever the circumstances and 7 mins is anti-southern regardless and again would back anyone against them.
I'm simply stating that no one is really looking at the whole pie and that's the problem. All sides are so entrenched in their own positions that if this entire situation were reversed you'd still back the same horse (so to speak) and do a complete u-turn on your reasons.

Or wouldn't you? If this entire situation were reversed would you support Southern on the issue of safety and against the union?

I very much doubt that would happen.

I've looked at all sides of the story. Southern have lied about staff sickness being a reason trains haven't run in the last few months.

I believe on reason they got the contract was to bust the unions and the Company don't care about trains not running as they get paid anyway.

But again none of that is relevant to the reason they are striking (according to them). Or is it? And that would be some common ground we share. I don't disagree as to why they got the contract and that they are trying to break the union. Conversely I do think the union are entrenched and are not going to be busted and, to that end, the strike is purely political (irrespective of how many little pictures get posted on here), with safety, doors, CCTV, Guards etc simply being a convenient battle ground. I'm just a fan of honesty as, with the number of D.O.O trains about at the moment, not too many people really buy the s***e that the union peddle about safety.

I think you've looked at all sides of the story apart from one - mine. The humble passenger who is getting royally shafted by both the unions and the Company!!

Exactly.... the longer this goes on, the more the general public will become hostile to both the unions and Southern.

The humble passenger is being treated as a pawn in a game of political chess.

The images look hard to see. Perhaps the chap is showing that CCTV has its drawbacks and to counter whoever said the others looked clear.

Quite but as I am sure you know, taking a photo of a screen will always be ropey. Particularly as I doubt that the screens are exactly HD. If the photo was taken in the dark, an old device etc this would also impact the quality of the image.

As per the video still it can be very misleading though I am sure that's not 7mins intention.

BTW what do you make of the alleged comments made by the President of the RMT?

I think that bringing down a Tory government type rhetoric is typical rabble rousing stuff you get at these sort of meetings.

As for the images, they look very unclear. How big are the screens that the driver looks at?

I would normally agree but given both this and Whelan's comments have been relatively quickly followed by industrial action, I am not sure you can just dismiss it.

I don't know, that's my point about context. Those photos tell us nothing posted as they have been. I and I suspect everyone else learn nothing from them.

When you compare the original image he posted to the video you can see the difference, that may well apply with subsequent photos
