As far as I'm concerned in this situation, no news is goodbye. Negotiating with clubs. Probably why the whole saga is causing so much comment. The reality is it can only go one of two ways. I wouldn’t put money on the outcome one way or the other .

So, according to the daily fail, he has deffo left the club, hmmm. Anyhoo, congrats to Wilf & Paige on their wedding . . . [Link] 2+2=5 reporting. He didn't sign the offer before his current contract expired, hence he rejected the contract. He still might sign it if not better/other offer comes in. I hope what's happenned is that SP has offered Zaha the full 200k etc if he signed before his contract expired, after that - the offer on the table would not be so dramatic. but I doubt it.

It seems a reasoable suggestion that if he was commotted to staying he would have signed the new contract already.

I'd be most surprised if a decision hasn't been made one way or the other, but if not, the club needs to impose a cut-off point for the contract offer, and it needs to be quite soon. I'd say that it needs to be done by the end of this week or the offer is off the table. How can we plan when we don't know what money is available for wages.

Good points, But, how do we (hol) know that he hasn't already signed & that the announcement is being witheld till a suitable time, bearing in mind he only got married sat. Just a thought, thats all.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I can just imagine the following conversation if a new player wants to join : Players agent - 'Well Dougie, my boy wants to sign for Palace. Pass us your pen' Dougie - 'Hang on one second, I'll just give Wilf a call to see if he's staying or not' Edited by martin2412 (03 Jul 2023 12.06pm)

Lazio, Fenerbache or Saudi seem to be his only options. Not a great choice. As much I love him, Palace have got to remove the contract offer and move on or we look like desperate fools.

Fair point and the way the Palace cogs grind in terms of announcements we might not know for many weeks. Roy's full season had been agreed some weeks back on the BBC but was only announced today. I'd be happy to have Wilf return on a 2 year deal even on big wages. Not a 4 year one though. How is his fitness though, bearing in mind his injury last season (another good reason not to go for a lengthy contract) ? If these contract negotiations move slowly will he be ready for the beginning of the season, as is he in training ? Doubt it. With Olise unavailable another player on the side lines isn't great preparation. COYP !!

A person like that cannot be 100 percent committed to Palace only settling for it . What ever happened to the Palace DNA Steve and we don't want any player who are not 100 percent committed to the club .
