Stirling may be a fan of Maajid Nawaz. Not too sure,however, what Maajid would make of many of Stirling's posts..

"One caller said he was threatened by Maajid because he was part of the Islamic takeover of Britain. Maajid’s response to this was brilliant.

Maajid Nawaz, who hosts a regular weekend show on LBC, is sitting in for James O’Brien this week. One caller thought this was evidence of a “Islamic takeover” of radio and of Britain at large.

“Do you feel threatened by me in any way?” Maajid asked.

“Absolutely yes… Because Islam is taking ground, step-by-step. They're getting MPs, they're taking over radio shows, they're building mosques, they're bringing people in, their numbers are increasing. They're doing a job on us and they want to take over this country."

The caller, Paul, said that it was up to Ukip to “stand up” to the Muslim takeover of the UK. Maajid’s response to Paul’s claim was excellent.

“What you've done there, Paul, though is a fantastic advert, an amazing advert for why myself and I hope many of our listeners will not be voting Ukip in the general elections.

“If this is representative of your members' views then I suggest to you that they are quite xenophobic and in your case, because you're suggesting by your analogy that I should compare the fact that I'm hosting you on my radio show here with how you would be treated in pakistan, I'd say slightly racist too, only because I'm British.!"

Your ignorance isn't unexpected. As usual, you mischaracterise...it's pretty much your MO it seems.

I wouldn't have made that phone call and I'm voting Tory this election not Ukip. I don't support banning the burka either but I do support a lot of their reformist ideas on Islam.

Maajid isn't perfect....for example he's a liberal democrat..and my personal views are closer to Sam Harris's on Islam who Majid wrote a book with.

However I....unlike this gentleman....back Majid in this respect on his reformist agenda towards Islam. I suspect this guy doesn't really know what he's talking about.

I have no issues with secular Muslims like Maajid or any like him. I've made it quite clear where my concerns lay.

You're the kind of person Maajid really has to fight....not me. If I were to phone him up I'd congratulate him.

Wasn't it Jamie who mentioned internment? I was talking about ways to contain the population percent size of an unreformed Islam. My concerns are related to future threats to secularism.

Erdogan is making himself into a bit of a dictator. Using Islam to appeal to a vast section of the population. It's a f***ing disgrace .
He's silenced the voices of opposition by arresting them. The usual suspects rounded up, journos, teachers, bloggers so no one speaks out through fear. With the recent referendum he's cemented power even more. Worrying times.

But do you think he is doing it because he is a muslim? Or because he's a power crazed cund?

As for worldwide secularism, that ain't gonna happen. People gonna worship. My church is selhurst. Some idiot threw a lighter at Barnes today. We know what area of the ground he was from and what faction of fans. Doesn't mean everyone there today wanted to do that . The club will be punished for the action of 1 idiot who couldn't temper him/herself.

The terror incidents we have had recently have involved single attackers with kitchen knives. Now whilst heinous, these crimes are going to happen if warped ideologies get into pliable minds. The question is, how many 'pliable minds' are there? What factions / groups within the Muslim population are we talking about?
Should those with abslutely no links to these groups or ideologies who are in many cases, very 'westernised' for want of a better term, be punished for the of a few idiots running round with kitchen knives?

On the opposite extreme (although not actually that far apart - they both need to engender 'fear' to perpetuate their existence) to 'islamic' terrorism we have Right wing extremists in the UK.

Security services made arrests in Birmingham yesterday which is good and shows that they're tracking the right people.

Other than what we've been doing, I don't know what can be done. People will say stop the unlimited immigration, but that's an overstatement. U.K immigration policy, though by no means perfect, isn't as loose as it is made out.
