We cannot afford to give Everton free kicks in dangerous positions with Sigurdsson on the pitch and we cannot afford for them to win headers in our box.

I’m not offended as I’m used to the moronic comments from the usual suspects on here. Pretty childish and immature if you ask me though. How old are you? 12 going on 65?

In patches tonight we have moved the ball more crisply and quickly than I can remember for many years. There have been very few aimless balls into the sky, and plenty of passes to feet involving five or six players at a time.

To achieve this we have spread out, making the pitch bigger than we normally do in possession. That's fine until the deepest midfielder loses it, like luka and Ayew did. How the hell we are not losing is a miracle.

To make matters worse, we look equally vulnerable when we've got everyone back in their positions. They've had two or three straightforward crosses into our box lead to clear headed chances.

Conclusion: we look defensively poor when trying to play decent football, and also when not!
