Several people mentioning Vince.

He was my childhood hero yet no way in my opinion was he good enough to be considered one of our best ever.

He created a buzz when he got the ball but often the end product was very poor.

This, obvz, is about Zaha and his return to fitness.

So what truth does it hold?

Who is our greatest player in history?

Lombardo?
Byrne?
Salad?

You thoughts.

Salad was good but not greatest. Its wright for me.

Interesting article interview with Andy Gray who claims that Wilf would neither be the biggest ego during his time, nor a guaranteed starter.

It also says:

“Our side didn’t rely on one player, so when people weren’t doing what they were supposed to do they’d be shut down.

“We wouldn’t take things so easy, everybody had to put a shift in and contribute."

I would agree that the teams we've had have often put in a shift and the central figures in the team from defence and midfield have often ruled the roost, so to speak, and that is what this current team is lacking.

The problem is that we now need to bring in a big name figure like a hybrid of GT and Cabaye, but someone who would tear you a new armshole if you didn't pull your weight. I just don't think Mili does this and lacks the gravitas to do so.

If we found the equivalent of GT now, he wouldn't cut it, not because of ability, but because the attitudes have moved on. Eze seems content to skip across the park, while other seem content to let him do so. Wilf on the other hand isn't lambasting people for their effort and aggression, but because he didn't get the ball he wanted.

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

Always liked watching Geoff play and one of the obvious gaps in the team at the moment. Remember him making Gazza look average in an away game at White Hart Lane. Happy days.

Tallish, Skinny all arms and legs. When he made his debut against (I think) Brighton they had a player also nicknamed spider and both scored in a 1-1 at Selhurst.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
