It's actually a total dump in places but it does have its good bits.

The market is a great place. And the Alfa Romeo Museum

You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself.

Used to buy my clothes in Surrey Street in mid eighties.

Do you remember a clothes shop called Remys (may be spelt differently)
Think there were about three shops, all staffed by Indians who jumped on you as soon as you stepped foot inside.

Plus you had Beanos the record shop.

Does anyone remember the name of the shoe shop? Think it may have been called Doctor something but may be completely wrong.

I think the shoe shop was called Dr Patos.
Best place for your DMs.

Be careful when heading to Lake Como from Milan. Miss the turn and you end up in Switzerland.

OR

Be careful when heading to Thornton Heath Pond. Miss the turning and you end up in Norbury.

It's got nothing on the Mr Fox/Dog & Bull/Art & Craft/Green Dragon stretch

Doubt they have shuffleboard in Milan

I would say somewhere between 0 and 1% chance of Wilf heading to Italy, but if PSG came in I would be worried.

Or the way L pool are stuttering, he would give them a great outlet.

I definitely remember the name, but when I searched for it just now it came up as being on Church Street rather than Surrey Street.

Was Remys not one of the little shops on the left hand side as you walk southwards down the market from Church Street? Very old looking buildings with an overhanging first floor held up on columns, next to what is now the Fox pub?

I remember those little shops. I thought one of them was a sports shop? I seem to recall buying trainers there, and also an adidas top in about 1989/90?! It was always damp smelling in there. Tiny little shops. Cafe next door.

If Zaha goes to Milan he'll leave all this rich cultural history behind.

pretty sure shoe shop was 'Patos'

Beanos was at one time managed by a friend of mine, tale 6'6 beanpole, Che, amonst others.
I think Mr.Apollo worked there also?

You may not be old enough Tom, but do you remember the clothes shop, corner Katherine st called 'John Leonard' was bought out by 'Mr.K'early 80s.
I worked in both establishments.
