He has that ability to draw fouls.
Last season, Grealish won 167 fouls in the PL, more than any player across any of Europe’s big five divisions. His closest rival was Zaha who was fouled 120 times.

I see that Grealish draws and wins fouls, while Zaha gets fouled.

Hmm. Interesting and not very subtle distinction. But you may be right.

I think you are unfair on Grealish, Zaha (and by implication, Eze)
They get fouled because of their ability to change direction 'on a sixpence' and draw a trailing leg.
OK they all play on this ability but the difference is that Grealish and Eze usually get up and play on, Zaha just sits and berates the ref.

As it's live on the BBC it's bound to be a really sh1te game which we'll luckily nick 0-1.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

I’ve absolutely no idea how this one is going to go. It’s going to completely depend on the player’s attitudes and how many changes Roy makes. I don’t think it’s a game we can afford to lose so I’m sitting on the fence. 1-1.

Given the fiasco in the last game, I wouldn't mind if we reverted back to a much more defensive approach. Just as long as we don't stick to it until the 85th minute if we concede.

Cahill and Kouyate were annonmous in the last game. I dont want to see them or Ayew on the pitch again.

I suspect this will be a 2-0 defeat in a repeat of last seasons dour performance.

Had we not sucker punched Saints and Utd in the first 2 games. Both of which had played 1 friendly each, then the table would be looking very ominous. With not picked up 3 points from a team that was in the premier league last season since then.

I share your concerns about the 'Direction of travel' and not looking to the future with a great deal of optimism given the age of the squad and the testing season that lies ahead.

Still early days and a point,or better,a win today, will lift the tendency for gloom on here.

This is a Tier 4, COVID-19 Boxing Day fixture leading to a 'strange' result:

0-5 to Palace (optimistic prediction perhaps)

Wilf hattrick and assists to Benteke and Eze.

Reason: Wilf will be angry with his colleagues, and from the outset will go on the attack and get tackled leading to a player being sent off (Mings).

So extremely good for my Fantasy Football Team too.

Fingers X.

I think you misunderstood my post. Willo - intentionally or otherwise - had implied that Grealish intentionally won free kicks, whereas Zaha was an innocent victim of fouling opponents. I simply said that he may be right to draw that distinction. But for what it's worth, I tend to your viewpoint that these skilful players are going to be victims.

I'd take a point. It had better not end up being a Boxing Day drubbing.

I will be happy with a point.

A drubbing and HOL will be awash with hyperventilating and screens spattered with spittle-flecked fury.
