Not sure why, with respect? You obviously agree. We don’t have strikers that fit our system and our manager is definitely not playing to their strengths, hence why we should buy one that fits his pattern of play. But what is our system? And which type of striker would suit it? I'm surprised Hodgson even starts Batshuayi, who seems a rather lazy player, the opposite of Ayew, who at least does work hard off the ball. Some games our attempts on goal statistics are appalling, what type of striker is going to improve them?

Giroud would suit us down to the ground. Batshuayi does not because he can't play with his back to goal. He's a unit, but he has the presence of Dwight Gayle.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I totally agree, of the strikers currently available and of a known ability he stands out a mile as the sort of player that would fit our system. In theory Benteke is the ideal striker for us but he can’t finish which means he doesn’t bring enough to the table in that position.

Hopefully Wickham gets back to fitness soon. Really think he could be the answer....strong, good in the air, great finisher and anticipation. Just needs to stay injury free (which, I know, is highly unlikely.

20m fee agreed but no obligation to buy was my understanding. Hence why Chelsea also extended his contract. Shame that he hasn't yet seemed to kick on from his last successful spell. Don't think his last spell was as successful as most make out, was dropped up to the Cardiff game, inflated his stats in that and the crazy Bournemouth game.

Talk of Giroud is daft, he's 34 and I thought the idea was to lower the squad age, Giroud would just be stop gap with no plan for the future, funny enough exactly what Batshuayi is - stop gap.

Whilst I agree about finding a youngster, at the moment we need a stop gap that can score goals and I reckon Giroud would do that. I would like Chris Wood, Tammy Abraham or Odsonne Edouard, but jan would be way too expensive for one of those. I would bring Giroud in short term and give him the game time he needs to prove himself for France. He will be desperate to deliver so I see that as a big plus in our favour of him joining us.

Each comeback comes to an abrupt end with another injury setback.

Looking at the stats he's scored 13 goals in 62 appearances since joining Chelsea in 2018. Disregarding whether ones considers that a decent total, is it possible that he will get the goal scoring chances with Palace considering the way we set up under the current manager? On reflection, Ayew's contribution last season was spectacular!
