I would never say that Willo. However, maybe you are a touch "conservative" in your views on likely results, relegation etc! Perhaps you have been burnt too many times in the past 40 years by Palace to show too much optimism or get in any way carried away. If that's the case, I fully understand why. I recall a few years ago, someone in my vicinity used to greet me with "Here he comes, Mr Pessimistic" or words to that effect when I used to arrive at my seat to watch the game.Certainly "Lighthouse of joy", followed by raised eyebrows was used but in jocular fashion. I am actually far more positive in everyday life although I can be a glumbucket on occasions! Edited by Willo (21 Nov 2020 10.59am)

Get the ball down and move it quick. Ayew to open the scoring.

My experience is never show any sign of optimism, the moment one does, the whole thing collapses in a heap, almost without fail. Pessimism is the only way forward, then one can be delighted with a good outcome. Europe, new stand, new player, good result... You name it and my history with Palace is littered with times when any form of positivity has eventually resulted in disappointment. Willo has got it right!

Anyway, looking forward, I'll go 0-2 Palace. I suspect Hodgson might bench Eze to be on the safe side after his tight muscle and play Schlupp instead. My one concern is that we haven't kept a clean sheet in the league since the opening game, so if Burnley do manage to score first we will do weel to get anything out of the game.

Even then it was good as that loss saw off De Boer. Yes but the way Chung Young Lee glided past two of his own players and slid the perfect through ball to the Burnley striker so he was one on one with our keeper was almost de Bruyne-like, even if he was playing in the wrong direction.

It would be rather nice if I could be sitting in my armchair in 'Chez Willo' totally relaxed with 10 minutes left confident in the knowledge that we will secure all the points. I certainly do NOT wish to be confronted with a situation towards the end of the game whereby the tension will be high-volt crackly and we are clinging on like a limpet to a rock or indeed there is precious little chance of getting anything from the encounter.

Don’t forget Dann’s last minute goal line clearance for them. Managed to header it out of play from 2 yards out.. Controversial, but I always felt he missed that on purpose to get FdB the tin tack!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
