We'll be last place on MOTD anyway, that's for sure.

Rigid safe boring football you can get away with when you win but playing as we have for about 10 of our last 14 games where we have lost 9 is really concerning. If fans were at the games I reckon either we would be playing attacking or Roy would be gone.

If fans were at selhurst for the brighton bus parking disaster last weekend it would have been ugly

I predict a 100% improvement on the Brighton performance with two shots on target.

Mitrovic couldn't hit a barn door in his last game against Sheff Utd.

Nailed on for a brace at least against us then.

Anyway, I'm starting to not care either way as it's got so boring.

Journalist Martin Samuel reported that Hodgson wouldn't have been able to get away with that performance if supporters had been in the stadium.

He added that either our supporters would have inspired the players to greater positivity or we would have delivered a damning verdict.

The latter I feel.

I think the lack of attacking flair and pace from our full backs has been one of the major weaknesses recently although Mitchell appears a better defender than Van Aanholt IMO. If Clyne is anywhere near the force of old and Van Aanholt fit I’d like to see both.

Mitchell gets skinned far too easily and far too often atm for him to be our regular LB. Plenty of time to develop and improve though but boy does he need to.

I agree about the full backs lacking attacking flair, Ward is usually dependable defensively (bad mistake for the Weed goal though) but going forward he offers us NOTHING. That is simply not acceptable in the Premier League!

You are right. It just feels weird and surreal without the fans, and without being able to go home and away. It’s as if it isn’t the real thing and is all some long pre season tournament that counts for nothing. Together with the abysmal VAR system which is killing the game of any excitement and euphoria I am inclined to agree with you and say I can’t be bothered with it either.

The way we set up and the counter attacking style we try to use, the lack of forward contribution and overlapping from the full backs is killing us.

As for Fulham prediction, there is only ever going to be one outcome.

0-0 at 90 mins plus 2 mins stoppage and then RLC hammers one in from 25 yards.

But technology shows Cahill has headed off the line, clears up field and Zaha scores.

I'll have some of what you're having.

My concern is we set ourselves out to be ultra defensive but have managed to concede in 9 of our last 11 games. Something just isn't right.

Yep. Tomkins is still injured and Cahill has only just returned.
