We play so much anti-football that the PL officials must be pleading with the refs to give penalties against us every match and try and speed our demise from Europe’s showpiece league. Why on earth would anyone pay money to watch that. My Tottenham and West Ham mates waiting for the next match kept looking at me aghast, all I could do was shrug my shoulders. One Palace fan I was sat with phoned his friggin girlfriend during the game and asked if he could come round because there was nothing on TV. Bad times indeed.

..glass half full??.. at the moment my glass is empty.. So are you saying you were happy with our performance against Brighton?.. I for one wasn't.. If Roy was expansive now and used our attacking players in an attacking role we would probably get more points on the board now rather than maybe later.. We were totally negative because of Roy's tactics which he called The Siege Mentality.. awful performance and very lucky to get a point.. in the last two games, Chelsea and Brighton, we've not had a single shot on target apart from yesterdays penalty, which was our ONLY shot yesterday.. 180 mins of football without a shot on target.. total, unforgiveable, dross.. we were lucky to be playing a Brighton side who couldn't hit a barn door and not to be playing Liverpool or Man City or any other team who know how to finish otherwise we would've been lucky to keep the score in single figures.. why wasn't Eze playing? .. too creative for Roy I guess, he might have actually caused problems for Brighton by attacking them with skill and making openings for our two forwards who were starved of any decent creative passes and who may have an an attempt on goal if they had received the ball occasionally in the first place.. Spot on. This about us being a bit braver in our next appointment . The old mantra of solid performances where not getting beat is the objective before even kicking off must make way for some ambition.

One enquired as to how I could continue watching such appalling football, with our team taking the lead and hanging on like a limpet on a rock, allowing our opponents to dominate the ball to such an extent.I informed the chap that like a dog returneth to his vomit so a fool returneth to his folly.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'destROYing the beautiful game' by becky How about a petition signed by HOL members to Steve Parish asking him to consider his (and Mr Hodgson's) position ? He makes many press comments about the PL in his position as one of the 20 PL owners. At this rate he must realise that Worth a try? Has anyone got his email address ?

I can't stand the way so many people are so easily satisfied..."well we might have been terrible against Brighton but at least we got a point out of it".

We had a fortunate start to the season playing an out of sorts Soton who would normally play us off the park at our place and a Manure side that hadn't yet woken up. At least we took advantage and got the maximum points so generously offered. Our last two games have seen us afraid to play football. Against Brighton it was if we got the unexpected penalty bonus and the players were afraid to do anything else in case they made a silly defensive mistake and gift the opposition a goal. What mystifies me is that we played quite well against Everton and showed a degree of attacking intent. I'll keep my counsel regarding Roy until I've seen how we perform in the next six games, all of which are winnable. After that we face Spurs, West Ham, Liverpool, Villa, Leicester, Sheff U, Arsenal, Man City. We will need to have bagged a good number of points before we face that lot, although at least Sheff U look beatable. If we let the other 7 teams in that list have the ball, they'll murder us.

Palace Banana, yes i was unhappy with yesterdays performance, brighton have played better football this season than us, but they have less points, Chelsea game, Batman could not play, so we had last years problem up front, Bennie is never going to deliver, as for the game we lost (chelsea) to some extent to awful defending, i have been supporting Palace since 1958, at best we will be a mid table club, with hopefully a good cup run again, I think Roy will go this year, whoever takes over though will have the same restraints, but all in all i am quite a happy bunny

Who says they have??.. have you watched all their games and all of ours to make that judgement??.. as for the chelsea game without Batman, Ayew played who certainly wasn't a problem last year.. the problem was Roy's tactics again.. I agree with Kev64, whatever you're smoking can we all have some then we might all be happy bunnies..

I’m not a fully paid up subscriber to the ‘Roy Out’ campaign but I do wholeheartedly agree with the main feeling and majority of comments on this thread. Many of which have been put far more eloquently than I could. The football has been dire, not just recently but for all of last season too. I was at our first away game last year against Sheffield United. We were appalling, outplayed and outfought by one of the newly promoted teams. Roy’s turgid style of play is just awful to watch, it’s more of an ‘endure’ in the hope that we can eek out a win. I’m grateful for what Roy has done for us in terms of retaining our Premier League status but it is now beyond a joke as to the style of our play and how we do it. There have to be alternatives, as indeed, Rodgers, Nuno Esperanto Santos & Bielsa to name but a few, have shown. I simply do not subscribe to the theory that Hodgson is the only one who will keep us up. The seven defeats at the end of last season and the shocking performances in our last two games are indicative of how bad we have become.
