Benteke has scored the grand total of 6 goals in his last 75 games, whereas Deeney has scored 23 goals in his last 75 games. Edited by Willo (28 Jul 2020 9.11am)

In footballing terms Deeney would probably actually be a good fit for us, but I just don't see his heart being in it and at his age he would probably only be coming for a pay cheque. Like I said somewhere else, even at 37 I'd still be happy to see us sign Foster as competition for Guiata as he has had a good season in a struggling team. Seems like a nice guy too.

No complaints really, we fully deserved it after the sacking of Pearson. We needed better investment in the summer, mostly in defence. But also to give competition for the regular first team players. Most of them massively dropped off but we simply didn't have the depth to have other players pushing them for their position. All in all we've had a decent 5 years, with a cup semi final and cup final. I certainly won't miss going into games hoping for anything less than a spanking. We're in a much better position now than when we were in the championship before, with the stadium in much better condition and some decent young talent on the books. With Zaha potentially leaving, and what feels like an ageing squad, do you think Palace will be in danger of a relegation battle next season? Edited by Watfordfc (28 Jul 2020 2.04pm)

That's correct, Dawson was the only addition to our defence, and he'd been relegated with West Brom the season before. At that point the old lot such as Cathcart, Mariappa, Holebas should have been moved on and replaced. Sarr was a good investment, unfortunately I think he'll be sold on now as we try to balance the books.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

Think it was Jason Cundy or Jamie O'Hara which probably says it all. Anyway he's knee is messed up and a lot of our own fans think Deeney is past it - certainly at Premier league level. Sarr was our only real attacking outlet and he was injured a bit. Welbeck looked useful at the end but again suffered with injuries as predicted. And Deeney played a whole season with a bad knee. Midfield was non existent. The fact Sunday was probably one of our best performances says it all - too little too late.
