I rate him too, honestly. But for a player with a track record of terrible injuries and a player that has a mistake in him at any point in the first 15 minutes of a match it’s just too much. I think now is the ideal time to get rid because he still has something to give another team and we could sell him rather than letting him go for nothing. Realistically looking at our expenditure, we have to look at every player from the perspective of their worth to the club both on the pitch and financially. I also really like Meyer and think he hasn’t had a fair crack because of this system, but if we could shift him in the summer it wouldn’t be the worst idea either. 230-250k a week is an enormous sum and that money needs to be being used sensibly. In an ideal world they play well every week next season and are worth that money, but if that isn’t the case then we need to make a move. Who is on £230k- £250k per week? No-one at our club. Are you talking about more than one player here?

Max Meyer £125,000 Edited by Johng (09 Mar 2020 10.54am) Your quite correct when the input is greater than the output then that is the correct time to act!, however under Parish that does not apply!

PALACE FOR EVER London 11 Mar 20 11.26am | |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Busy next season - Players' contracts' by bexleydave There are 12 players' contracts ending in June 2021. How busy will Palace be, selling any before then to get a transfer fee, negotiating new contracts to keep them here? (some done during the coming summer) or just letting any go then. Then there is the knock on problem of replacing any that leave for any reason. Only Scott Dann & Stephen Henderson's end in the coming June.
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Busy next season - Players' contracts' by bexleydave About half of the players quoted seem unlikely to be issues - Townsend (already indicated he wants to stay), Cahill - unlikely to want to move again and playing very well, McArthur, Schlupp - discussions already underway, Kelly, Ward and Hennessy. The more problematic ones are likely to be Meyer, Sakho, Benteke - all high earners - and possibly Van Aanholt if he wants to return to the Netherlands and possibly Guaita - may well be others interested although he seems very settled. I would be surprised if there was not some movement around Sakho and Meyer this summer (both areas of the team that has a good level of cover) with a desire to replace them with cheaper/better options and get back as much as possible re what was paid - Sakho.

Rubbish. Hennessy a quality prem keeper and a great option at #2. hahahahahahahah Meyer gives something different and changed the game regularly when he enters the fray. He is a good player in my opinion, however he doesn't fit into Hodgesdon's style of playing, I think he was added to the squad to play the deep role that Cabaye Played so well, so if you compare him to Cabaye you see his short comings in that position. Fair enough. Personally I still think he's contributed when he's come on...but that's open for debate.
Cahill is head and shoulders above any other defender at the club. Sakho when fit is good cover for Tomkins nothing else. That's your opinion. Cahill is solid as and a better leader. I think Sakho is a better football player. All opinions. Regardless, doesn't mean we should get rid of Sakho just because Cahill might be better? Luka. Doesn't even deserve a reply. Have you watched his performances this season ? He has been savagely average at best all season and got torn a new one by Moy at home to the weed. Pace is letting him down, and to a certain degree McArthur is mopping up his errors. Yes I have. Did you watch his performances over the last two? Again, being slightly below par for half a season doesn't mean you get rid of someone who's undoubtedly one of our best players. Suggesting we move Luka on is laughable. Benteke - starting to show some great form. Agreed, the withdrawn number 9 role suits him better.
Only if it betters what we have. Agree. Only people i'd consider moving on are Dann and Townsend. Love them both, but they need to be playing. Dann and Townsend are you actually mental sorry mate but that's crazy talk.
Hennessy is the welsh Goal keeper. Yes that makes him an international but so would playing for Gibraltar. He is Crap. There's a reason we bought a new keeper in, in front of him. he's Rubbish!! I'm a season ticket holder mate have been for years. Luka is not the player he was, and has been poor all season, not half a season, but all season and like I said got shown up against Brighton at Home as Moy ran rings around him. I honestly hope he returns to his best, but I just don't see it.

Zaha The others below I would also consider for other reasons like never going to be used or starting to get towards not being good enough at this level but realistically it's not going to happen Ward

A number of posters have suggested we let Dann go as he is out of contract. I think he is playing well at the moment and would keep him providing he wages are not an issue. To be honest I would not be unhappy if everyone stayed. I doubt that we will receive any blockbuster offers so it is more does Roy want them and do they want to stay. Trust in Roy let's hope he gets the funds he needs. COYP

I expect the club has already offered him another 1 year deal. Don't expect really many changes Roy likes set names so those I expect will be kept maybe Zaha only one to go.

Plus our defenders are not internationals or in any cup competitions.
