It’s time for fresh blood !

To be fair to Roy, he just doesn’t have a choice. Since the beginning of 2017 until now, we have spent £59m on players of which Sakho accounted for £25.3m.
If you look at Leicester. In the same period have signed over 30 players costing over £350m.
No surprise they have more options than us, they can start dreaming of Europe again. We again happy to stay up.

Looking at the table at the moment, the patchy form of several "big" clubs, and Palace's new never-say-die attitude as seen in the comeback against Arsenal, can we start dreaming of a Europa League place next season? I do worry about the potential loss of momentum due to our older than average squad (not helped by Roy's unwillingness to give youth a proper chance) but if we're still in with a chance by January it'd be nice to see the board prepare to splash a bit of cash to help us get there.

That and, I think we can safely say Zaha is a lot better off staying here than going to Everton. The right choice was made, even if reluctantly.

Dreaming of a Europa League place??

After our defeat yesterday, and a similar fate at the hands of Chelsea and Liverpoolour next two fixtures, think we will once again find our natural level, despite the early season optimism, probably the usual battle to stay in this league.

In one word, NO, in two words NO, NO.
If we offer Benteke a new contract it will be three words, NO, NO, NO!!!
Why? In five words, we can't score enough goals!
According to Roy, the boys did well on Saturday with a 0-2 score. I suppose it could be worse, 0-9! But it is still nil!!!
Mr.Hodgson, where is the entertainment value? It's cold and damp, not entertaining and knowing that to win a game we've got to have 3 or 4 slices of good luck or a Wilfred crumble in the penalty area. Don't go Wilf!

Parish is the man where you should be directing these comments, Roy cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

I don’t know exact figures but Leicester have recouped most of their outlay by selling players - they don’t hang on to unhappy players. Likewise don’t forget we sold Wan Bissake for big money and now we should sell Wilf but having done that I believe we should appoint a new fresh manager to spend the money and build a team that can be successful as well as a bit entertaining.

Yes I realise that Roy has kept us up despite a lack of funds but his style at home is so rigid and boring that it will eventually drive fans away - he won’t change !
Let’s not get carried away with our early season success - we could easily be in trouble by Christmas if we don’t start scoring !

You think the Wan-Bissaka and the rapidly diminishing cash we might get for Zaha will be spent on players? Interesting...

According to transfrmarket they recorded a transfer deficit of around £18m for each of the last two seasons and £40m the one before that. So an average transfer deficit of around £25m per season. I have no idea if that is sustainable for a club of Leicester's size.

If you ignore how boring we have been to watch you have to say Roy has worked miracles to get the amount of points we have achieved. As I said from the beginning of this season though, people will only support him while the points come in; if we hit a lean patch he will get little support as the performances lack any form of entertainment on the most part. Pardew was supported for so long because despite the results you couldn't argue it was entertainment (albeit in an awful way at times!)

I’m saying it should be - whether it’s will be is another question!

Are Palace boring or is premier league football boring?

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

I must admit, I have seen a lot of boring games this season with teams just cancelling each other out. Chelsea have been fun to watch, but that is probably also the reason why they won't challenge for the title. I think there is also a lack of characters and genuinely exciting players at the moment. The league could have done with a Messi/Neymar/Ronaldo type arrival, with the big clubs not signing any significant forwards in the summer. That is one of the reasons I want Palace to go for Morelos. Yes he might get 5 red cards, but I reckon he'd provide entertainment.

Good point - I think they both are!

For example who wants to watch Watford v Norwich on Sky on a Friday night ?
Sky is killing my interest especially with its besotted bias for Liverpool and Man U and it’s use of women purely for pc reasons .
