Perhaps some of these places in Australia are far from salubrious :

Ann Summers is pretty tame though, the only thing in there worth putting up your bum is the fire extinguisher. If you'd said Honour then I'd have been intrigued.

Cant go wrong with a set of cock rings, PTJ.

Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

Haven't blokes come a-cropper using metal ones that have cut off their blood from leaving their shlong and have ended up having to have amputations or at the least a call to the fire-brigade?

That review is the stuff of legend even for Stanley folk themselves. I have actually been in the lully last summer and had my concerns but everyone was friendly the place has had a refurb and they had a decent jukebox , had a few there before the hole that is the venue @ new cross .. now that is a dive but a good night out nonetheless

Was in there one day and saw a big vibrator with a tartan pattern on it. I asked the assistant how much it was, but he said it wasn't for sale.

When I asked why not, he said "cos it's my thermos flask mate."

Family friendly pubs. I f**king hate them. Watching people with their kids, enjoy a meal, whilst treating themselves to their weekly one or two pints, pretending to be happy experiencing a paraody of places they enjoyed before they made the terrible mistake of having kids, whilst they gush over the faux restaurant quality food that some speccy achned kid will heat up in the microwave for them

Family pubs friendly pubs are prisons for the soul.

Also, its a f**king pub. It sells alcohol, a drug. Its one up from taking your kids to a crack den or shooting gallery, but without the f**king charm.

Yes but how else are the alky dad's who have access once a fortnight on a Sunday afternoon meant to see their kids without it eating into their drinking time?

Back on topic...

Consett.

The main street was pedestrianised some years ago. It should never have happened.

It really did need lorries and buses plying their routes belching out noxious fumes - if only to isolate pedestrians on one pavement from the other.

If ever there was a place that reflected the townsfolk, Consett is it.
