The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Teacher's do not go on strike for any reason other than pay or working conditions, they certainly don't do it for the sake of the children.

Yep, the government are. For cutting education budgets privatising education (placing public assets into private hands) and destroying the curriculum.

Instances of childhood stress is on the increase because of the pressures of constant testing from the age of 4.

Nit picking. Greenwich Nut have over 2000 members. Not one has applied for hardship / strike payment.

I'd imagine that less than 0.0001% nationally have done so, I was told it was less than that last time.

So they obviously don't need it, must be well paid

the dignified don't even enter in the game

That was destroyed years ago,no history or geography compulsory now I believe.
Go back to the good basics we had years ago, along with the new technologies.
Woodwork, domestic science and such, and teach them be able to read and write to an acceptable level.

And to stress I do not believe in testing 4 year olds, but there has to be a tests or assessments at different ages to gauge their progress.

I have told my boy that the next time he gets a detention to tell the teacher that he can’t make it as he’s striking that day.

The pay is quite good. As the first post said, the strike was against PRP, cuts to school funding and the narrowing of the curriculum among other things.

Same kind of attitude that doesn't want schools to have sports days because it stresses out the kids who aren't that good at sport. Ridiculous. Inject a bit of competition and, yes, a bit of disappointment into children because otherwise they're going to find it f*cking tough when they get into the big wide world.

Absolute fallacy that is often trotted out and perpetuated by the media.

Why do left wing people always protest and strike at the drop of a hat thereby causing misery to thousands of innocent people in many ways?

FFS - Bristol College Green pretty much has at least one protest march by these cnuts every fcuking day!

Stop whingeing, get back to work and earn your fcuking salaries you tw@ts.... the disruption to everyday life caused by you selfish arseholes costs £Billions.
