With all due respect, there will be in the near future (regardless of which way the EU vote went). Not good signs and tough times ahead for many.

How on earth will we cope? A country that won 2 world wars, started the industrial revolution and ruled a global empire is suddenly meek and helpless without it's neighboring countries to help It's a wonder we got this far. Death to the EU, it's just Germany trying to rule Europe with a dollar instead of a gun f*** em

Daniel Hannan backtracks over importance of curbing EU free movement [Tweet Link]
We'll be seeing more of this. itll be painted as only accepting those we need but governments will simply decide we 'need' hundreds of thousands in a whole range of ocupations as its in the political classes interests to do so. the EU was just useful cover for letting people in, as it was for many other problems caused by our own governments. the penny will drop soon enough and people will see that they've been f***ed over. in the mean time we'll all get to enjoy a crap economy. This 'whoopy we've done it' mentality will give way to a sobering reality. There were many reasons to vote in or out but expectations of some are way off.

Could not believe what I was hearing from the IN supporting MPs interviewed during the night all giving their reasons why the OUT vote was doing so well and all coming up with everything other than the real reasons. None of them would face up to the real reasons and this is why they lost. The sun has come up this morning - the world will carry on - markets will Stabilize and in the long term this truly will be fantastic!

Two lies exposed and we are only just beginning. I can't see Boris' claim that worker's rights won't suffer after BREXIT lasting far into the future. It will be "look, its time for realism, we are in a global market place, we need to compete with those Bangladeshi kids"

As that great liberal newspaper The Sun said in 1992... 'Last one out turn off the lights' How right (in both senses) they have been proved to be.

Also, I'd recommend Investment Trusts, whose shares are traded on the stock exchange, rather than OEICs (Unit Trusts), where the value of the units can be adversely affected if a large investor (say a pension fund) decides to sell, meaning the trust has to sell stock (whether it's at a good price or not) in order to pay them out (plus I don't like the fees they charge). In anticipation of a possible Brexit I also took a smallish position in the shares of a precious metals Investment Trust on the 14th June and doubled my holding this morning when the market opened. They were up 15% earlier, but now stand at just under 9% and they could well fall further on Monday. A much better investment has been shares in a food franchise that I've been buying on dips in the price for the last five years. These are currently up over 250% and were hardly rattled by today's shenanigans. The long-term investor will generally beat the short-term trader over time and you sleep a lot easier at night Edited by bexleydave (24 Jun 2016 6.45pm) Thanks Dave. I was an IFA for 30+ years before I retired at age 50. I'm 62 now and financially secure. I adopted a similar short term strategy in 2008 and it paid off. I am a long term investor though, but with the balls to go short term defensive or speculative when it suits. My wealth is underpinned by property and other safe assets. I appreciate your word of caution, and others might heed your sage advice.

My investments/pension funds have made 10%+ in just over 2 weeks in Blackrock Gold & General Fund..... that was the "killing" I referred to. I can assure you that it was a tidy sum with plenty of zero's. ive got a full cock thanks . your fund is 10% up probably because of the big rise in gold , unless your fund manager went short the stock market and mark to market the fund will show a big rise . if he has covered his shorts and looking to buy dips that was a very canny move if in your opinion the stock market will recover , which I doubt and that's coming from someone with pensions , and various other investments . you could have got 15/1 on brexit an hour after the polls closed , perhaps your gloating about the whole thing grated on me , good luck with your ivestments any way
